up of hundreds of events around the UK

musicians have played to an audience of

over 750,000 people at almost 3,000

Oxjam gigs, raising in excess of £1

million to fight poverty around the world.

Your support is vital to making Oxjam

work, we hope you enjoy Oxjam

Aberdeen Takeover 2010!

Thank You From

Oxjam!

We‟ve put together a line-up of the best acts in the city to play across five stages on Friday the 23rd October. Tickets cost £5 and are exchanged for wristbands on the door of the venues. These allow unlimited access to all venues on the night so you can come and go as you please and see the acts you really want to see!

To make things better, we’ll be putting on an aftershow party at Tunnels 2! Anyone with a wristband can get free entry so come along and enjoy a drink after the bands have finished!

Tickets can be bought at One Up, www.wegottickets.com and on the door of each venue.

Le Reno Amps(Armellodie Records)

Le Reno Amps were born of sorrow in the North East of Scotland. In 2004 they moved south to Glasgow to

spread their joyous word, play lots of shows and write lots of songs. Nothing ever came so quickly that they

could say that it was easy, but here they are ready to tickle your listening lobes.

Scott Maple and Al Nero formed Le Reno Amps with the simple premise that every song they write should

stand up to the test whether it played on an old beaten up acoustic guitar or with a full band behind them.

“We try to write songs with all the fat cut off so you can savour their buttery goodness.” says Scott.

Since the release of „Tear It Open‟, their third album no less, the band have attracted glowing reviews in

both underground fanzines and the mainstream press, blending their unique brand of chugging and

chiming Caledonian pop and malevolent mariachi thrashing.

Le Reno Amps appearance at Oxjam will be their first show of the year, and first for 10 months as the band

have been recording their follow-up record to 'Tear It Open' as yet untitled but due out in March 2011 on

Armellodie Records.

“…an unashamedly upbeat and melody-strewn rampage of aggressive guitar pop, flecks of rockabilly,

country, mariachi, blues and punk glittering throughout and making an eclectic but engaging record”

The List

"...evinces a deep love of music and no shortage of ideas, with jerky rhythms, distorted guitars and electro

pulses of an 80s new wave band"

Mojo

"...a slap in the face, it's rare for a band to make upbeat anthems sound dangerous and still fun, yet Le

Reno Amps do exactly that"

Big Cheese

"This is an imaginative, theatrical and enjoyable album that casts its net wide, without settling anywhere

long enough to be classified"

The Skinny
