Light in the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum is used to monitor changes in local tissue hemodynamics and detect differences in tissue oxygen delivery, consumption and utilization. The OxiTor-M2 is a compact, wireless and portable Continuous wave (CW) NIRS system for measurement and monitoring of local tissue oxygenation and hemodynamics. The OxiTor-M2 measures changes in oxygenated (O 2 Hb), deoxygenated (HHb) and total (THb) hemoglobin. Changes in O 2 Hb and HHb reflect tissue oxygenation and changes in THb indicates tissue local hemodynamics. Through its spatially resolved (SR) configuration OxiTor-M2 can also calculate changes in the tissue oxygenation Index (TOI) in percentage, which reflects the average saturation of the underlying tissue. The OxiTor-M2 can continuously monitor changes in O 2 Hb, HHb, THb and TOI in real time.
