burfi a yummy Indian milk sweet

3/4 cup butter 1 cup fresh milk

1 1/4 cups sugar 1/2 cup desiccated coconut

3 1/2 cups powdered milk pistachio nuts (optional)

Melt the butter. add sugar and mix together.1.

add the fresh milk, stir and bring to the boil on medium heat.2.

Lower heat and add powdered milk, a little at a time. Keep stirring 3. and add coconut and nuts. When all powdered milk is added, stir to remove all the lumps. use an electric beater if you have one.

Lightly butter a rectangular or square biscuit tray. Pour Burfi 4. mixture onto the tray and refrigerate.

When cold and hard, remove Burfi from tray and cut into small 5. diamonds. If desired, sprinkle finely chopped pistachios on top.

takes 1 hour plus refrigeration.
