Each class learned about a different group of people who lived during a period of time. This information will be used this term to create an iMovie to demonstrate the facts and ideas learned. Students will also be using a range of skills from script writing to costume design and learning how to use the iMovie and Garageband software programmes, with more confidence. Students have been looking forward to going to camp all year and the time has finally come. We have 104 nervous and excited students ready for all the challenges awaiting them at Lakewood Lodge Adventure Camp. Please be prepared by checking off items on the Gear List provided and naming ALL items. Thank you in advance for all the wonderful homebaking and a big thank you to all those families that are lending us the use of their tent for our ‘Survival’ nights. Currently end of year assessments in Reading, Maths, Spelling and Writing are underway and teachers have already begun writing reports. In Maths, students will be practising knowledge and strategies they have learned throughout the year. We will also be looking at Statistical Probability and Financial Literacy. Students are continuing to learn how to structure and write an invitation to a variety of audiences, using technical language ‘Writing to Socialise’. We will also be learning to write narratives to develop creative thinking and story telling. Week 1 & 2 - ThursdayWeek 2, 5-8 - Friday

H O M E W O R K !Homework is expected to be handed in every second Friday beginning Week 2.

Our homework expectations are glued into the front cover of the homework book if you need to check. These include:

★ SPELLING - Each week, the student will have a new spelling list of a minimum of 10 words. These need to be practised and tested each night (see inside Homework book for ways to do this).

★ MATHS – 1000 points or more each week on Mathletics. Teachers will check this online. ★ READING - Read for no less than 20 minutes each weeknight. Students may choose from a variety of reading

material, e.g., chapter book, comic book, magazine, website etc. ★ HOW MUCH TO DO? All students will complete all the above plus one activity per week selected from the grid

or class teacher directed activity. !Teachers expect students to do the same quality of work at home as is expected at school. Work should follow our Book Standards, which will also be glued into the student’s Homework book. !It was encouraging to see the standard of Homework handed in by most students. If students do not complete their Homework they are expected to finish during their Friday lunch time.

Check us out online! !Remember to check out our class blogs and see what has been happening in our class and around the school.

SCHOOL UNIFORM Students are expected to enter and leave school in full school uniform. This includes wearing their shoes. This also applies to students attending an inter-school sport event.

In Term 4, black sandals are encouraged. Hats are expected to be worn outside at all times in Term 4. If a student loses a hat or another piece of uniform they need to bring in a note for a Uniform Pass which will be issued by Ms Gifford.

All uniform items can be purchased from the school. A price list is available from the school office.

Please ensure all items are clearly named. If found, they are returned by the office ladies. We are encouraging students to have their uniform embroidered with their initials for a small fee to make lost items easier to identify for returning. Please see the office for details.
