DIRecTOR OF DevelOPmenT DAvID AlADE

David left a promising career on Wall Street in his native New York to pursue his passion for urban revitalization in 2015, when he moved to Detroit. He is Managing Partner of Century Partners, a cutting edge real estate development start-up that he co-founded with Andrew Colom. After graduating with a degree in Urban Studies and Economics from Columbia University, he pursued a career on wall Street where he focused on providing an array of secured financing solutions for consumer finance companies. During his tenure in investment banking at Barclays Capital and Credit Suisse, David facilitated over $100BN in financing for mid-size to Fortune 500 companies, including tens of billions of dollars of financing for the finance arms of the Big 3 uS auto companies (Ford, GM and Chrysler). in the summer of 2014, David fell in love with the charismatic energy burning within the city of Detroit and began financially investing in its neighborhoods. Currently, David is focused on community advocacy and real estate development in Detroit’s urban neighborhoods on a full-time basis.

DIRecTOR OF hOusIng ANDrEw COlOm

Andrew is an accomplished writer and real estate developer. He graduated from Columbia University in 2005 with a degree in literature and creative writing. He received a full scholarship from the NY Times to pursue a Masters in Fine Arts and finished his Masters in 2007. Besides pursuing the arts through writing, film production, and theater, he started a real estate company in his hometown of Columbus, Mississippi. He started with 5 Single Family Homes and built that company up to 15 houses and 300 apartment units. He has worked in all facets of real estate from small to large scale renovations to new home construction, property management and real estate bookkeeping. Andrew moved to Detroit in February of 2015 to focus on using the arts and real estate development to improve Detroit’s neighborhoods through community partnerships as managing partner and co-founder of Century Partners with David Alade.

sTRATegIc PARTneRs pETEr CummINgS Peter is responsible for developing new business, setting strategic direction, and managing investor and community relations for The Platform. with his son Casey, he built a successful real estate development company, rAM realty Services, over the last 40 years, with a primary focus on residential and retail development in the Southeast. He currently serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and is active in various aspects of Detroit’s revival. Peter was educated at Yale university and the University of Toronto and completed the Owner/President Management Program at the Harvard Business School. DIETrICh kNOEr Dietrich is responsible for developing new business, setting strategic direction, and running the day-to-day business of The Platform. He has 20 years of domestic and international development and investment experience. Dietrich is passionate about the resurgence of Detroit and the opportunities that are derived from the urbanization of American cities. He is involved in several non-profit organizations that are making a difference in the life of inner city Detroit residents. Dietrich graduated from the University of Frankfurt, Germany, and received his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. mIkE hAmmON Mike is responsible for executing the residential development, redevelopment and marketing strategies of The Platform. Mike has 28 years of experience in residential development under ram realty Services and The related Group. He has served on numerous cultural and urban planning committees in his home community of Miami Beach. in the early 2000s, he worked on the development of the Ellington and the condominium conversion of Tower 300 at riverfront. Mike graduated from indiana University and earned an M.B.A. degree with an emphasis on real estate and finance from the university of California, Berkeley.

These innovative services help decrease energy waste and the associated financial burden, providing a positive return on investment, and contributing to the safety, health and comfort of building occupants. Her firm has grown to more than 60 team members, and on track to gross more than $25 million in 2016 revenue. Ms. walkerMiller has been featured in national publications such as FORTuNE, EBONY, jET, Black Enterprise, EEI’s Electrical Perspectives, and Crain’s Detroit Business. Ms. walker-Miller is a proud Detroit booster, and champions issues related to water affordability and the intentional recruitment, training and employment of black Detroit residents. mIChEllE STOry-STEwArT Michelle Story-Stewart, Ph.D., is CFO of walker-Miller Energy Services (wMES). Prior to her position at wMES, she was CFO at the Detroit Land Bank Authority. She also served as Senior Program Officer - Finance and Operations for the Local initiatives Support Corporation (LiSC). She has nearly 20 years of professional experience in community development, including providing technical assistance for neighborhood revitalization. She is an expert in strategic planning, financial management, and operations. She is also a certified National Development Council Housing Development Finance Professional as well as a certified Economic Development Finance Professional. She also serves as treasurer for Ecoworks and is on the board for the Palmer woods Neighborhood Association. Dr. Story-Stewart has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northwestern university and a Master’s degree in economics from the University of illinois at Chicago (UiC). She obtained her doctorate in Public Policy Analysis/Urban Planning and Policy from UiC as well.

Mitch McEwen works in architectural and urban design, focused on the intersection of urban culture and global forces. A(n) Office is one of 12 u.S. firms exhibited at the u.S. pavilion for the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale. This spring, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Detroit presented Methexis, a solo exhibit focused on McEwen Studio’s work in Detroit, presented as a series of 3d-printed alterations to balloon-frame structures. Before founding McEwen Studio, McEwen worked as an urban designer in the office of Bernard Tschumi Architects and New York City’s Department of City Planning. McEwen is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at University of Michigan, after teaching previously at Columbia. McEwen holds an MArch from Columbia GSAPP and BA from Harvard in Social Studies, cum laude.

DIRecTOR OF lAnD-bAseD ecOnOmy ChASE CANTrEll Chase is the founder and director of Building Community Value (BCv), a Detroit-based and community-inspired non-profit, whose mission is to redevelop vacant commercial space outside of the city’s central business district. The goal of such development is to provide residents in predominantly African-American communities greater access to local business offerings that reflect their needs. Licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan since 2008, Mr. Cantrell specialized in real estate and corporate law at Dykema Gossett PLLC and Kotz Sangster wysocki P.C. As an experienced transactional attorney, he facilitated corporate and real estate acquisitions, sales, and other complex transactions for clients of all sizes (from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies). Through BCV and collaboration with other community partners, Mr. Cantrell seeks to be a catalyst for sustainable social and economic development projects that engage distressed communities in creating impactful, resident-led change but, more specifically, that improve livability for all Detroiters.

Gerald is the Senior Pastor at the Evangelistic House of God (E.H.O.g.); a non-profit church organization located in the heart of the Fitzgerald Community at 8401 Puritan. Established in 1965, E.H.O.G. has been in service to the city of Detroit for over 50 Years. E.H.O.G. has been in its current location for over 10 years, providing open doors and outreach to those in need. The church sponsors a variety of programs that support the community in many different ways. gerald has served as Senior Pastor of E.H.O.G. for more than 20 years. Gerald sits on the Board of Directors as the Chairman of BriTE (Bridging roads in Technical Education) Academy. BRITE Academy is a non-profit organization that provides technical training for adults in the community. Gerald is a graduate of wayne State University and received his Master of Business Administration from Marygrove College.

Ron started his finance career within gE Capital and holds an Executive MBA from The Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern university.

Overseeing material acquisition and distribution, jeremy’s passion for triple bottom line business and lifelong commitment to recycling and reuse helped establish reclaim Detroit as a nationally recognized industry leader. Before joining reclaim Detroit, Jeremy promoted deconstruction and reuse for the largest deconstruction nonprofit on the East Coast, Second Chance in Baltimore, MD. He refined organizational processes and leveraged funding streams resulting in the deconstruction of hundreds of houses and steady employment for over fifty workers annually.
