CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY DOCTORATE
UCD - There are 10 places on the programme for which typicallythere are over 100 applications each year. Health Board sponsorship of approximately eu 11,000 per annum is available for these places to cover fees. In addition the student is paid>eu 30,000 per annum in salary.
The students work on placements for the 3 year course in St John of Gods or within the Health Board and get block releaseEach academic year and then day release each week to attend lectures.Trinity are hoping to increase from 6 to 12 places this year.

Psychotherapy
The psychological treatment of a wide range of mental and physical ills by a number of different methods. Treatment is carried out with individual patients or clients usually via a long series of intimate discussions over some yearsSome psychologists train in Psychotherapy but it is not yet an accredited area
There are many theoretical frameworks for treating a wide range of mental/emotional and sometimes physical conditions e.g. Freudian, Gestalt, Jungian etc.

Market Research – Graduate Trainee Programme: Commission qualitative (small groups, in-depth open ended questions) & quantitative research (mass market surveys sampling a significant % of the desired target population). Present findings to clients.
Advertising – Planning Department : Advertising, pre-testing & compiling consumer profiles based on buyer behaviour. Planning brand and communication strategies.
