LONMARK OpenLNS & Rosetta Stone Project
The “Rosetta Stone” is a black slab with three languages on it…each saying the same thing.
• Protocol “Rosetta Stones” support the full configuration of a sub-system with automated procedures
• The procedure visible to the user are the same for all sub-systems (DALI, EnOcean..)
• Goal: Supported with release 2 of OpenLNS
• Gives a subsystem the touch and feel of LonMark
• Common profiles • Common data typing • Common device level management
• Facility managers do not need to deal with gateways .. the technology layers are hidden
• Tools know how to “manage” each sub-system
.. the «magic» translator..
LONMARK/ASHRAE/BACnet
Work together for a complete solution
• LONWORKS networks interface to BACnet IP
• Scalable solutions for any application
• LonMark and ASHRAE working on joint specification – Division 25 Open Building Automation Spec
– ASHRAE SPEC: Co-Authored LonMark/ASHRAE Specification Documents – include LON and BACnet implementation requirements
• New interface and driver products available from multiple suppliers – LON to BACnet IP drivers
– Protocol translations gateways
– Network management tools for managing multiple protocols in one tool environment
