United States Government and South African Government and reflects a continuation and strengthening of the strong relationships between the two countries.

• Partnership Framework- emphasis on mutual accountability, transparency, alignment, etc. Partnership Framework Implementation Plan (PFIP)- roadmap over a five year period (2012/13 – 2016/17)

• Recently handed over to the DSD the Community-Based Interventions Management System

• We are in full support of CBIMS and the partners are expected to support its roll-out across the country

Streamlining Reporting Requirements • PEPFAR actively seeking to support the CBIMS roll-out and aligned MERL system

• DSD/PEPFAR indicator comparison currently shows minor differences in disaggregations and indicator naming which can be easily aligned

• Ensuing discussions should be focused on aligning and synchronizing information systems with a focus on strengthening CBOs’ capacity to report to DSD

• Focus on data exchange between the parallel reporting systems for ease of export and import functionality

• PEPFAR support to all these systems is the common denominator- making it easy to align the systems

Page 7: Outline

Way Forward• Identification of DSD perceived gaps and needs for information systems support

• Collaborative coordination of PEPFAR partners by DSD and PEPFAR/SA to foster a bottom-up approach in information systems re-alignment

• Evident support of the CBIMS system at community and other levels by PEPFAR partners

• Support of the review and implementation of the social services indicators focused on implementation support than diagnosis

• Continued engagement between PEPFAR/SA and DSD to review information systems and policies implementation progress
