• The Camp SEA Lab residential programs are located in Aptos and La Selva Beach, CA

• The site provides safe and direct access to the beach and thru private gate

• Students and adults sleep in single gender dormitories with beds, bathrooms, and showers

• Students are under adult supervision at all times

Students study the Scientific Method as they learn about the lives of sand crabs, come up with a study question, and take sample data to answer their question.

Coastal weather is highly unpredictable. We recommend bringing a waterproof jacket and clothes that can be worn in layers. We hike rain or shine! When packing, remember to keep it light. Your child will have to carry whatever they bring. We suggest labeling items with your child’s name.• Lunch for the 1st day• 1 sleeping bag & pillow• 1 pair pajamas• 1 pair closed-toe shoes• 1 pair sandals or water shoes• 3 pairs pants, shorts, or sweats • 1-2 jackets, sweaters, or sweatshirts• 1 rain jacket or poncho• 4 shirts • 4 pairs underwear and socks• 1 plastic bag for dirty clothes• 1 bottle for water• 1 toilet kit to include: sunscreen, comb/brush, towel, shampoo, • toothbrush & toothpaste, soap & deodorant• Camera and film (optional)

What Camp SEA Lab expects…What Camp SEA Lab expects…Camp SEA Lab Outdoor School provides a unique opportunity for students to learn in the outdoors, however we like to stress that this experience is still to be considered school. We hold high, but not unattainable expectations for participation and behavior by all students. Please take a moment to discuss the following expectations with your child prior to camp.

Camp Guidelines Dorm Guidelines• Be respectful to everyone Respect chaperone’s authority• Work together Respect everyone’s space and property• Be on time The only dorm you may go into is your own• Protect living things Wait for a chaperone before entering your dorm Leave them in their homes After lights out, stay inside and keep quiet• Don’t throw rocks, sticks or sand Don’t roughhouse, argue, or fight• Stay in camp boundaries No put-downs, foul language or dirty jokes• Walk, don’t run Keep your dorm & restrooms clean• Use the trashcans, No graffiti Quiet Hours: 9:30pm – 7am
