Our Pro Team of alpine athletes collaborates regularly with our development team to design

high performance mountain boots and climbing shoes. From this partnership has come our

Pro Line models such as the Rocket, Alpine Pro GTX® and Approach Pro GTX® Lo that

were introduced in 2017. These models were recently put to the test by Ralf Dujmovits,

David Göttler, Rudi Hauser and Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner during a joint workshop with our

development team that was held at the Coburg Hut in Tyrolia, not far from our Jetzendorf

headquarters. Conditions were cold, damp and foggy – in other words, perfect for alpine

testing, and the verdict from the athletes was unanimous: “Fantastisch!”

New 2018 Pro models that have resulted from this collaboration are the Alpine Ice GTX®,

the Alpine Pro GTX® LE, the Alpine Pro GTX® Ws and the Approach Pro GTX® Lo Ws,

all in the Alpine collection, and the Rocket Lacing in the Rock Climbing collection.

LOWA REPAIRS

Alpine, Backpacking & Trekking Boots

Our Alpine, Backpacking and Trekking boots are constructed so that the soles and midsoles are cemented to the uppers. Assuming the uppers are still in solid shape, the soles and midsoles can be replaced in our factory in Jetzendorf, Germany. There, the LOWA Repair Department will replace the outsole, midsole, rubber rand or toe & heel bumpers, laces, footbeds and will recondition the leather uppers. Once returned, the boots are shipped directly to the consumer, with repair and shipping charged to their credit card.

This service generally allows the boot’s owner to get another few years out of their boots, allowing them to break in a new pair over time. This service can take two to three months upon receipt by LOWA Boots LLC in Connecticut due to shipping times. Using LOWA’s recommended Active Crème & Waterstop Leather Care products along with resoling greatly extends the product’s lifespan.
