PARISH ROSARY– We pray as a group of Pa-rishioners on Zoom every day at 6:00PM (except SATURDAYS). Please join us. To receive the link, please contact the parish office email at [email protected], and we will email you the link to get in. It is a great way to pray to-gether and see some of your parish friends!

GETTING MARRIED—The Sacrament of Matrimony requires a time of spiritual preparation. Arrangements should be made at least six months before the date by meeting with the priest and before any social plans are made.

PRE-BAPTISM CLASS is required for fir st-time par-ents. Parents are asked to call Patty Schwerin at 412-563-0858 to register and arrange for a scheduled time for this class.

BAPTISM SCHEDULING—At the present time, Bap-tisms will be scheduled only one child/family at a time as advised by the Diocese. We will be able to accommodate the number of people allotted by the current mandated requirements for capacity for the church where the Bap-tism is to take place. Social distancing must be observed and face masks are required. Since we have 4 deacons, baptism will now be scheduled on Sundays at the 3 loca-tions—SCS, RES, SPX— after the last Sunday Mass.

BIBLE STUDY is held each Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00pm in the gym at St. Pius X Church with Fr. Adam Potter.

FAMILY HOLY HOUR — Every 3rd Monday of the month from 9:45-10:45am. We will be using the chapel at St. Pius X school building. (If we get a larger group we will use the temporary Church in the gym or both.) This is a great opportunity to show your children the power of Jesus in the Eucharist and spend time in prayer together.

MASS TIME CHANGES TO START OCTOBER 3, 2020

With the Pandemic of Covid-19 many churches did not open to a normal schedule or some have still not opened their doors. We have been fortunate to add as many Mass back as possible. With Religious Ed-ucation classes starting in October, and looking at our current Masses and attendance at those Masses we know we need to adjust our schedule to make it work. Taking into consideration CCD, Cleaning of Churches, and other factor, the council and priests agree to eliminate the least attended Mass which is the current 10:30AM at SPX Gym. Also to move the 10AM Mass at St. Catherine’s to 10:30AM to allow the Religious Education/CCD schedule to begin at its normal time.

St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish will provide in-person Faith Formation Classes at both sites. Additionally, there will be a traditional homeschooling option for any family who has children in grades 1-8. The parish has put safety procedures in place to follow in order to keep your children and everybody safe throughout the school year. Faith Formation Classes begin the week of October 4 th . St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish is offering the following programs for the upcoming school year: St. Catherine of Siena Site: 1st – 8th Grade – Sundays, 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. (Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level 2 is offered at this site) – Classes start on Sunday, October 4th. St. Pius X Site: 1st–8th Grade – Wednesdays, 6:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. – Classes start on Wednesday, October 7th. Please return the 2020-2021 Registration Form to the Parish Office or place it in an envelope marked “St. Te-resa of Kolkata Faith Formation Registration” and drop it in the collection basket by October 1st. Registra-tion forms are available at the Parish Office. For more information/register, please contact Nancy Spinneweber, Director of Faith Formation at 412-531-2135 / ext. 20 or [email protected].

FAITH FORMATION (CCD/CGS) NEWS

MUSIC & COLLECTIONS– Beginning in October we are going to make some changes at Mass returning a little bit closer to normal. The Diocese has given Pastors permission to offer communion at the regular time at Mass, so we will have communion at the normal time (please remember to always form a single line). We also intent to increase the sung responses and music at Mass. Also, we are asking the ushers to begin taking up both 1st and 2nd collection. We hope this will make our liturgies more enlivened spirit-ually while we continue to try our best to be safe.

These changes will take effect October 3-4

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA) - Our program offers an oppor-tunity to come together in a small group setting to learn moe about our faith. The sessions prepare in-dividuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter sea-son. You are welcome to participate in the process with our questions, your insights and your faith story in a warm accepting setting. We anticipate sessions to begin in September and will be held in St. Pius X school building. For information, call Patty Schwe-rin at 412-563-0858 or email [email protected]

STATUES OF ST. TERESA OF KOLKATA– Fr. Jim is placing or-ders for 2 more statues to be placed at our Resurrection and St. Pius X loca-tions. Because of the size of the Churches vary, the Statue at Resurrec-tion will be life size (As the one locat-ed at St. Catherine site) The one at St. Pius x will most likely be smaller.

PARISH MISSION STATEMENT In the spirit of St. Teresa of Kolkata, we honor Christ by com-ing together as one faith community with the pledge to reach out to the lonely and less fortunate. Our mission is to engage in unselfish acts of kindness and compassion, sharing our blessings with a humble heart.

LIGHTING AT RESURRECTION CHURCH– Fr. Jim is waiting on a bid to redo the lighting in Resurrection Church. You may have noticed the lights in the sanctuary have slowly been burning out The current ones are LED and about 60% of the lights to each fixture are not lit. Anyone wishing to make a donation to help with paying for this upgrade can make an extra donation to Parish Share. We are nearing our goal for Parish Share and all extra col-lected stays in the parish 100% and can be used for such things as new lighting.
