Our Vision, Mission, Values and Objectives

for the next 5 years.

To establish Tonbridge Angels F.C. as the most successful ‘Non-League’ Football Club in the Country in partnership with Hadlow College.

Our Vision

Developing Longmead Stadium to accommodate Conference Premier League Football.

Financially strong and self reliant.

Developing a strong connection with the Community.

A reputation and track record of developing young talent.

Establishing Tonbridge Angels Football Club in the Conference Premier League.

“The most successful “Non-League” Club in the Country”

The existing Club house facilities are deemed to be in poor condition and inadequate, having passed their natural replacement date.

Good quality facilities are required to provide and promote sport, leisure and social activity.

Development is required to provide a safe, attractive and functional stadium at the highest level of Non-League Football.

Developing Longmead “Going forward together”

Working closely with our partners, Hadlow College, to provide them with an excellent value for money association with our brand.

Keeping our expenditure in line with our income with sound financial planning.

Develop profitable and sustainable income streams. ie) Good facilities = Good revenue streams = Good business = Low risk of failure.

Financially strong and self-reliant “Currently debt free and without overdraft”

Playing with strong Team ethics and a will to win.

Being a Club that will attract aspiring players to join and share in our success.

Demonstrating quality in the way we prepare, perform, respect and support each other.

That we are self aware and self critical, always aspiring to improve.

Established in the Conference Premier League

To play an important part in the fabric of local society, recognising that football often connects families and communities across many generations.

Football Conference Trust Community funding obtained for the first time in April 2013.

Formally invited to join the Trench Partnership during May 2013.

Advice currently being taken with a view to becoming a Sports Co-operative and/or a Community Benefit Society.

A strong connection with the Community

To have an active and thriving Community scheme, working in schools, youth clubs and social development schemes.

Levering in funding and grants to support our Community work.

Providing employment opportunities and work experience.

To develop joint initiatives with Hadlow College to support apprenticeships at Longmead .

To appoint a Sports Chaplain to provide spiritual and pastoral care to ALL members of the Club.

The Club work closely with Hadlow College to offer a high quality education and opportunity to develop.

The best young footballers in the region are attracted to the Club.

The quality of coaching throughout the Club is of high quality.

There is a clear and consistent coaching philosophy which encourages skill, teamwork and fitness.

Targets and plans for each division

By 2015 to appoint a finance manager to take overall control of financial dealings at the Club including:-

Day to day management of the Clubs accounts.

Preparation and payment of the Clubs Payroll, PAYE and VAT responsibilities.

Working closely with the Board to assist shaping strategic growth and offering critical guidance where necessary.

To continually review the Clubs’ expenditure to ensure value for money.

Finance & Treasury

During the course of the 2013 season, to introduce a commercial manager to compliment the existing events team.

To continue to build on the success of the annual events introduced over the past three years:-

Garden & Leisure Show - 3 years.

Beer & Music festival - 2 years.

Fireworks display underwritten by Tonbridge Round Table - 2 years.

To create and develop joint events to be hosted with Hadlow College.

To provide good sponsorship coverage for our existing partners & the local community.

Events & Commercial

Five Year Targets:-

To have a flourishing community scheme working as a hub to the community, providing work opportunities.

To have an academy in partnership with Hadlow College with 100+ student/players.

To have a centre of excellence running for 8 to 16 year olds working as a feeder to the Academy.

To extend the influence and catchment area for the youth section to the whole of the South East.

Academy & Community

To have delivered the F.A. Charter standard plan during 2013.

To increase the number of young local footballers in our youth development programme (currently 100) with the principal aim of seeing local boys playing for their local team.

To progress the clubs academy approach to player development, but at the same time extend the range of football to include at least 1 girls team and 1 junior disability team by 2015/16 season.

To direct teams under 11 years old towards the centre of excellence.

Youth & Juniors “To provide quality, safe & fair opportunities for young

people of all ages”

During 2013/14 season, to appoint a Director with specific responsibility for the Longmead Stadium buildings and facilities.

Discussions with the local Borough Council regarding the redevelopment of Longmead have already commenced.

Longer lease requested in order to attract private investment.

Professional advice currently being undertaken for the creation of the most effective “Development Fund”, independent of Tonbridge Angels FC Ltd. Funds already pledged.

Stadium & Facilities

During the period of this plan to create a stadium and facilities for the use of the wider community and for all users of Tonbridge Farm Sportsground and beyond (in conjunction with the Tonbridge Farm Sportsground Management Plan).

Requirements to bring Longmead up to Conference Premier standard are known and any further improvements made to the Stadium will be to that standard.

The Club will continually monitor the F.A.’s position on artificial surfaces.

By the beginning of the 2014/15 season, to create a separate administration team for all footballing activities and football governance issues across ALL teams playing under the Tonbridge Angels F.C. banner.

The Board recognises that the Club is growing at pace and that current resources are stretched looking after the senior, youth, junior and academy teams on top of the other roles performed.

To appoint a public relations and communications person and/or media team at the earliest opportunity.

Official website to be overhauled and used to release official news items.

Positive messages to be released by the Club.

To improve relationships with the local press.

Matchday magazine to carry more information on the activities being carried out at and/or by the Club and our sponsorship partners.

Communication & Public Relations “We’re more than just a Football Club”

Flagship of the Club.

Generally responsible for the Clubs’ perception within the Town and the Borough.

Will require further investment to establish itself at Conference Premier level.

Displaying the Clubs’ values at the highest level of non-league football.

Demonstrating that locally produced players have a chance to display their talent at Tonbridge Angels FC .
