Troop 125In spite of a small-sized blizzard, the Scouts of Troop 125 had a jollytime at their Christmas party.Games and a s ho rt s ki t were thefeatures of the evening. After the

games we ga the red in a circle and exchanged presents. We each drew onefrom a grab-bag and opened t h e g i ft sin rotation.

Refreshments were served and songswere sung. A good-night circle closedthe meeting.

more and for the last timespeak of the Christmas Club.

Th e New Year is now underway and it is time to seal th eChristmas Club i n favor of the routine business.

Therefore, next week will see the closing of the rolls and if youwant to have a Hperfect '36" it behooves you to adopt this excellentform of methodical saving.

In th e year just closed 312 millions of dollars were distributedto Christmas Club members in the nation and i t is reported that ofthis amount 40 pe r cen t wen t immediately fo r retail purchases, 25per cent into banking accounts (i n many cases the first checkingaccount to be opened by the individual) a nd t he remainder wasused to pay fixed charges of various kinds.

From all of which i t is obvious tha t the custom is too intrinsically valuable to be discontinued, even if it is no t a particularlyprofitable department of Bank activity, from the standpoint of immediate return bu t ou r opinion is that the Bank should no tbe reluctant to Hcarry on " when such substantial community servicecan be rendered.

So we say again, that if you have not already become a member of ou r Chris tmas Club, now is your last oppor tuni ty to do sofor this year and don't f or ge t t ha t you can qua li fy by depositing asl it tl e as a quarter weekly.

And you will do wisely by inducing t he young people to usethis means of learning well the law-and-order which is so necessarym money-matters.
