Our topic is

This week in Nursery

We have been playing with different farm animals and talking about the similarities and differences between them.

Animals

We have had another exciting week observing animals in the Nursery. The bird that lives in our Nursery bird box has been looking after it’s eggs for a few weeks now. This week the baby birds hatched from the eggs and we have been watching them on the special bird box camera. We can hear the mother bird and baby birds chirping too.

We chose some animals and then used our sounds to write about them.

Next week in Nursery

Literacy We are reading the story ‘Old MacDonald had a farm.’

Maths We will learn to count sounds and actions. For example, Count how many claps I do. Count how many jumps it takes to get to the gate. We will learn about 3D shapes. How many 3D shapes can you seen in the picture? Can you name the 3D shapes?

Expressive Art and Design We are looking at different textures and making pictures using different materials. We will talk about why we chose different materials for our pictures.

Understanding the World We are learning about different animals and matching them to their babies.
