“Wow. Nice use of white space. It’s easy to look at; it’s almost like you’re being invited to use the software. I like it!”

“Looks very simple to learn and use. Where’s all the buttons and icons? Compared to the other charts this one is much simpler.”
10“Teeth that look like teeth. Imagine that. Very clean and modern look. The way procedures are painted on the teeth makes it very easy to understand what was done or is to be done.”

“Good heavens, this isn’t even a fair contest. If I have to look at software all day long I’d rather have this on my screen than any of the others. Great work!”

Our Restorative Chart is the
“Sexiest Odontogram in the World”
The judges found the yellow background unsettling and the chart low
marks for bad use of space and a dated look.
“What do all these buttons do,” asked the judges. Seems like it would take
a long time to learn each button’s function. Black and blue background
seems like a big bruise.
The judges liked the more realistic teeth and the attempt at maximizing
white space. But for an app built for the Mac, they thought the design
was far shy of meeting the Apple mark for innovative design.
“The grey theme was a big turn off,” said the judges. The rows of buttons
on the right hand side make for a dreary user experience.
“Is this a chart for zombies?” asked one judge. “Why all the
deathly gray?” The judges also commented that there are too
many controls vying for attention.
“Was there any attempt to make it aesthetically pleasing?”
our judges asked. They noted the two long rows of buttons
were intimidating and “blah”.
“Way too confusing!” the judges said. The teeth are a
throwback to retro textbook style charting. Surely we’ve
progressed beyond that, haven’t we?
The judges said, “this chart is somewhat easier to understand
than the others, but the textbook charting is old fashioned.”
