MUD CLEANERS DESANDERS & DESILTERS

• Unique compact design occupies minimal space and allows easy inspection and maintenance without the need for ladders or scaffolding

• Capable of operating as a standard flow line shaker, a mud cleaner or both

• Multiple mud cleaner options are available and interchangeable between shakers, including dual shakers with common feeder

• Desander hydrocyclone packages are available in two and three 10-in (250 mm) configurations, allowing flow rates from 500 to 1,500 GPM (114 to 341 m³/h)

Featuring Compact Design, Multiple Configurations and Interchangeability Between ShakersMud cleaners further process drilling fluid downstream from the shakers. They are engineered to refine slurry through multiple stages of separation by directing flow through the desander (particle size removal to 40 µm) and then the desilter (particle size removal to 20 µm). The discharge from the cones is then screened by the shaker to minimize mud loss.

• Round desilter hydrocyclone packages are available in 16 and 20 four-in (100 mm) configurations with or without valves to accommodate flow rates up to 1,300 GPM (295 m³/h). Custom configurations available.

• Fully seam-welded and powder-coated for superior durability and corrosion resistance; equipped with all mounting provisions for secure installation to shaker base

2 or 3 Cone Horizontal or Vertical DesandersLocated downstream of the shale shakers and degassers, Ruff desanders are designed for quick installation and easy operation with no moving parts. These hydrocyclone desanders remove abrasive particles from drilling fluids down to 40 µm.

They are available with either two or three 10" (250 mm) hydrocyclones, in vertical or horizontal configurations.

The 10" hydrocyclones are capable of removing abrasive particles from the drilling fluid down to 40 µm at a continuous flow rate of 500 GPM (114 m3/h) per cone at an inlet pressure of 75 ft (23 m) of head.

8, 10, 12, 16 or 20 Cone DesiltersLocated downstream of the desander, Ruff hydrocyclone desilters separate and remove sand and silt particles down to 20 µm. Featuring an extremely compact footprint, these desilters are available in 8, 10, 12, 16 or 20 four-in (100 mm) cone configurations with continuous process flow rates to 65 GPM (15 m³/h) per cone at an inlet pressure of 75 ft (23 m) of head.

Uniquely RuffRuff desanders and desilters share a common design philosophy and unique features.

• Smooth radius pans allow solids to flow continually with no buildup• Victaulic™ clamps and caps for extra strength and durability• Fully protected pressure gauge mounted within steel frame• Heavy-duty skid with integral forklift pockets for secure transport• Optional three-coat powder system for harsh corrosive environment

ScreensSelecting the proper screen is critical to performance. Ruff RL 327 and RL 436 shakers use three or four pre-tensioned screen panels, respectively, with an integral gasket bonded to the backs of the screen frames for reduced bypass. Constructed of high-strength steel tubing, stainless steel wire mesh and a heavy-duty metal backing plate, Ruff screens are manufactured to API RP 13C specifications. These pre-tensioned screens install in seconds, requiring no tools or adjustment.
