Our Objective over the past two years: To create a brand, Rigby Interactive, and develop electronic tools to compliment Rigby Literacy, ESL, and Early Childhood.
Rigby Literacy K-3 Interactive CD-ROM
• 20 interactive CD-ROM’s, 5 per grade level, are thematically linked to 20 non-fiction books
There will be a mix of illustrations, animations, videos, and photographs
Non-linear format
All screens are interactive
Each activity addresses comprehension strategies, literacy skills, and writing connections as outlined in the TG
Can be used as a stand-alone product or in conjunction with the books and TG’s

Rigby Literacy Kindergarten Teacher’s Guide
Read and Learn ActivityIn Read and Learn, interactive screens will contain information that is thematically linked to a nonfiction book
and provide strategy and skill reinforcement to students.
Text will be narrated and highlighted by sentence and individual word. These interactive pages use the Rigby Literacy mascots as well as an off-screen narrator to provide strategy and skill reinforcement.
Play with Words ActivityIn Play with Words activities reinforce children’s literacy skills at the word, sentence, and book level.
Writing Connection ActivityThese are printable worksheet pages that encourage children's cooperation and self-evaluation in addition to being opportunities for teachers to further assess what they observe. These pages will be accompanied by audio and written directions.
Think About It Activity In Think About It children participate in interactive comprehension activities that utilize concepts, skills, and strategies that are reinforced in the topic areas.
Word Play ActivityIn Word Play children’s vocabulary and phonics skills are further developed in challenging, fun, and interactive ways. Grade K-1 students participate in word-play activities that use the format of a concentration game. Grades 2-3 students partake in a make-a-word game.
Goals Of Rigby Literacy Technology Programs
• To provide children practice in using the reading and comprehension strategies and skills that are being taught with the Rigby Literacy K–5 programs
• To provide teachers with more information about teaching comprehension strategies that are grounded in Mosaic of Thought
• To deliver activities electronically in a very appealing, user-friendly way, and within a safe environment
• To promote children’s growth in information literacy and extending critical thinking strategies.
