Our Mission
To promote and stabilize positive human growth through respect,
responsibility, trust, caring, and community. Collaborative partnerships are
created to provide education and promote self-sufficiency.
We serve as a “hub” for services and resources that sustain a strong,
vibrant, healthy community on the rural plains of eastern El Paso County.
Serving the residents of: Falcon, Calhan, Peyton, Ramah, Simla, Matheson, Limon,
Ellicott, Rush, Yoder, Edison, Hanover, Elbert, Elizabeth, and Kiowa.
There are over 20 agencies that meet monthly as part of a "Coalition" . The COC Coalition meeting is a networking opportunity where service providers and local community members come together to discuss needs of our rural communities and share agency information. The meetings are on the third Wednesday each month at 1:30pm at Swink Hall. Meetings are open to the public. The Community Outreach Center (COC) is located on the El Paso County Fairgrounds in Calhan, CO just inside the north gate. Coalition members & partner agencies occupy office space at the COC where they provide education & assistance as they offer services. Several partner agencies are not able to send a staff member out, although they are willing to provide assistance, education, & screenings from their Colorado Springs locations.

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 1 in 4 Americans live with a mental
disorder, estimates indicate that nearly two-thirds of all people with a diagnosable mental
illness do not seek treatment, especially people from diverse communities. We provide client-
focused, goal-driven & evidence-based treatment designed to achieve immediate results &
long-term recovery. We offer a full complement of support services to assist with transition &
readjustment both individually & through a comprehensive family care model. Access to
funding &/or discounts for essential services are offered contingent on family size & income.
El Paso County Department of Human Services (DHS) Wednesdays, 10am-4pm, 719-520-7897 Applications for all DHS assistance programs will be accepted, Food Assistance and Medicaid applications will be processed, questions related to DHS assistance programs can be answered and client documents can be dropped off.
Pikes Peak Workforce Center Wednesdays, 9am-4pm, 719-520-7895 Serves El Paso & Teller residents with career planning, resume writing & job search guidance for unemployed, underemployed & employed persons.

Provide services for individuals with short and long term disabilities such as
Information & Referral, Benefits Assistance, Employment Services, Independent
Living Skills Classes, Peer Support, Home Modification Grants, Veterans Home &
community based services, among other services. We provide support throughout
El Paso, Cheyenne, Elbert, Kiowa, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Park & Teller counties.

Walk Ins welcome or by appointment ..Provide immediate safety for women, children and other victims escaping abuse through our safehouse.
..Empower survivors through our advocacy and counseling programs.
The rural outreach services include advocacy, safety planning, help with protection order paperwork, court accompaniment, referrals, individual and group counseling, and outreach in the form of educational presentations and tabling events.
