FIRST SUNDAYS: Centering Through Faith We are all searching for deeper meaning and divine connection in our life. Join us as we share and learn practices that nourish our faith journeys. Sessions will introduce centering practices like expressions of prayer, drumming circles, Advent yoga, and visio divina. Come along on the journey to learn and practice new (and very, very old) ways to celebrate the Divine and deepen your spiritual connection. First meeting, 10/7: Different Expressions of Prayer with Carole DeHart.

SECOND SUNDAYS: Conversations About Science and Religion How do we bridge the gap between science and religion? Join Rev. Al Bamsey and our own FUMC science and medical community for conversations about experiences and struggles with faith, be-lief, and the place of God in scientific study. We’ll focus on technology and religion for the 2018-19 season, with the book Technology and Religion: Remaining Human in a co-created World by Noreen Herzfeld. First meeting: 10/14, speaker Larry Englehardt.

THIRD SUNDAYS: Vital Conversations: An interactive video series on today’s realities of race & racism Explore how some experience and benefit from white privilege, even if we believe we are not racist. These sessions from the General Commission on Race and Religion of the UMC will nudge you into conversation about the challenges of race, culture, and oppression in the church and world today. First meeting: 9/16; video: De-constructing White Privilege with Dr. Robin DeAngelo.

FOURTH SUNDAYS: Faithful Living — Telling Our Stories Stories can open our eyes into the workings of God in the world and in our day-to-day lives. We just need to think about the story in terms of finding the “god moment” — when the unexpected hap-pens, or we find ourselves helping another, or we see small actions of love between strangers. Learn how to look for holy moments as we hear stories of witnessing the unexpected from fellow congregants. First meeting: 9/23; Donna Wegryn and Mark Wickham share stories about their work with Habitat for Humanity

Disciple combines the study of the Bible with a small group atmosphere; many Disciple alumni cite it as a crucial piece of their faith journey.
