The Tech Challenge consists of 4 events, individual and team(or pair) events. These events represent the basic skills thatevery technician should possess to be well-rounded theatreprofessionals. See individual event for details. There shall be
a team score sheet carried by the teams for their resultsfrom the judges.

Tech Team Design Challenge
Teams of 4 - $15 per delegate1 entry per school, per contest
The Team Design Challenge will challenge student design
teams in a two (2) hour contest to render and constructdesigns reflecting the prompt provided at Festival.
There are four separate contests:
Set Design - Costume Design, Makeup Design - and Mask Design

No limit per school The Dramatic Design challenge will showcase the work of student
designers from their home campuses and be submitted online!
Designs can be from any published play or musical of their choice.Each team must present a unified design concept.
The top scores will be invited to showcase their work at State
Festival.

Professional comedian judges determine winners.After each round your team will be alerted that they have
moved on or have been eliminated. Games that troupes will need to know will be sent by October
17, 2021 to the Troupe Directors.

The STO's job is to plan, host, and manage the upcoming TexasState Thespian Festival and Leadership Days around the state.
The STO also serve as advocates for their fellow High SchoolThespians.
Any freshman, sophomore or junior who is an inducted
Thespian and is in good standing with his/her troupe may runfor office.
