Grateful Stewardsof God’s Gifts . . .

“We are witnesses of these things…” Acts 5:32

Being a witness in court is not easy. That’s why witnessessometimes contradict each other. One witness says thedefendant is an honest man; another says he is a liar and acheat. Being a witness to Jesus is not easy either. In fact,it is the most challenging thing we do. Everyday our faithcalls us not simply to say who Jesus is, but to show whoJesus is by the way we live our lives. This means we mustregularly ask ourselves: what kind of a Christian witnessam I? What do my words say about the life of Jesus? Whatdo my deeds reveal about his teachings? How consistentare my choices with being a follower of Jesus? In big waysor small, we are called to the daily sacrifice of living Jesus’way of loving. An excerpt from Living With Christ

Everyday we give examples of what kind of Christian weare to our children, neighbors, co-workers, just about anyonewho sees or spends time with us. It is so important that weset good examples for our children, grandchildren and allthose we care about. If we follow the lead of Jesus Christ,we will be great witnesses.

In one of our Walking with Purpose Bible study sessions,we looked up Philippians 4:8-9: ...whatever is true, whateveris honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever islovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence andif there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.Keep on doing what you have learned and received andheard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be withyou. This is good advice as to how we can be live our faith.
