Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Our Lady of

Loreto Parish PRAYER FOR PARISH SPIRITUAL RENEWAL

Lord God, You love us with an everlasting love, and You choose

us to share Your love with others. We ask that You rekindle in our hearts a new spirit of faith, of prayer

and of reconciliation. Inspire us to search out and find ways of bringing one another closer to You. We pray

for all who form our parish community, that we remain faithful to Your teaching, that we remain steadfast in

our prayer, both personal and communal, that together with You and the Holy Spirit, our parish may be re-

newed and transformed. All this we ask in the name of Jesus and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Please cut out and pray daily.

CHURCH PEWS FROM MOUNT CARMEL Anyone who wishes a pew should contact the parish office and speak to Lisa or Julie. We will arrange with F&D Construction company, who has been hired to remove articles from the build-ing, for a date and time for you to pick up a pew. You will not be allowed to enter the building because of safety issues. F&D will remove the pew and bring it out of the church for you to pick up.

SPECIAL MASS OF ANOINTING

On Sunday, November 18th at the 11:30 Mass, there will be a spe-cial Mass of Anointing for those who are ill, will soon undergo surgery, or who are elderly and feel the need to receive the Sacra-ment of the Sick.

ELECTION PRAYER

Almighty God, Lord of Life and King of all Nations, we beg you to look kindly upon our country and help us to wisely choose our new leaders. Inform our consciences and en-lighten our judgement, that we may elect those who will mercifully uphold justice and strive to protect the least among us. Help us to discern which candidates will uphold both the letter and spirit of the law. May our nation once again respect religious freedom, authentic marriage, the importance of family and the value of every human life—from conception to natural death. Heal the divisions which wound our unity and help us to overlook political tensions that keep us from becoming a united force for good. May our great land, built on both personal responsibility and charity towards the less fortunate, always balance prosperi-ty with care for the elderly, the poor, the sick and the aban-doned. May we elect honest and trustworthy candidates who will always uphold the common good and protect our God-given rights. In concert with the great founders of our nation, may we confidently proclaim, “In God we trust.” Amen.

Pray…Pray…Pray...

Prayerfully Improving your Mass experience

In the August issue of Magnificat magazine, Father Pe-ter John Cameron, O.P. offers a nice reflection on how we can improve our Mass experience, especially at times when we are feeling dry spiritually. He begins: “Not long ago, a devout young man approached me with a problem that really distressed him. He went to Mass every day, but there were some days—and this he was almost ashamed to admit—when he didn’t feel like go-ing. We, too, may have gone through a spiritual rough patch like that from time to time. How can we deal with it?”

The Dismissal

Lord Jesus, strengthen me to do what the priest or dea-con commands: to go in peace, glorifying the Lord by my life...even if all I can muster is staying faithful to you in whatever befalls me. Let me always be begging for your presence.
