LITURGY CORNERSome good thoughts to share as we enter the lastfew weeks of summer: 1. Give people more thanthey expect and do it cheerfully. 2. Don’t believeall you hear, spend all you have, or sleep all youwant. 3. When you say “I love you,” mean it. 4.

When you say, “I’m sorry,” look the person in the eye. 5. Lovedeeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it’s the onlyway to live life completely. 6. In disagreements, fight fairly. 7. Talk slowly, but think quickly. 8. When you lose, don’t losethe lesson. 9. Remember the three R’s: Respect for self;Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions. 10. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship. 11. Whenyou realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps tocorrect it. 12. Smile when picking up the phone. The callerwill hear it in your voice. Have a blessed week! Lisa

FAITH AT HOMEA small book entitled “Children’s Letters to God”contains letters to God from children under tenyears of age. Here are some favorites to share:

The first part is called “Puzzlements, Dilemmas and OtherImponderables”

1. Dear God, Did you mean for the giraffe to look like that orwas it just an accident? Norma 2. Dear God, I like the Lord’s Prayer best of all. Did youhave to write it a lot or did you get it right the first time? Ihave to write everything I write over again. Lola 3. Dear God, Who draws the lines around the countries? Rose

In the second part called “Fervent Wishes, Suggestionsand Complaints” we hear: 1. Dear God, Thank you for the baby brother but what Iprayed for was a puppy. Joyce 2. Dear God, If we come back as something else please don’tlet me be Jennifer Horton because I hate her. Denise 3. Dear God, Please send Dennis Clark to a different campthis year. Peter

The final section “Approvals, Confidences and Thanks”reveals a pal-to-pal relationship: 1. Dear God, I didn’t think orange went with purple until I sawthe sunset you make on Tuesday. That was cool. Eugene 2. Dear God, If you watch me in church on Sunday I willshow you my new shows. Mickey 3. Dear God, I am doing the best I can. Frank
