lessons will be held in January and February

    during regular virtual class time

    IMPORTANT DATES

Rachel and Jonathan Sirico supplement their Level 1

virtual lessons with educational games they create

using Kahoot, a learning website. These games are a

big hit amongst their students, and provide a fun and

productive way to engage the children in learning

    about their faith.

Even during this difficult year, our annual Toy Drive

was a huge success thanks to the kindness and

generosity of our parishioners. Two truckloads of

    toys were collected!

The Religious Sisters of the Servants of the Lord and

the Virgin of Matera were extremely grateful to

receive your donations, which they distributed to the

disadvantaged families of Mary Mother of the Church

Parish in East New York, Brooklyn.

The Religious Sisters were also appreciative to

accept Communion Dresses and Suits that our

parishioners donated. This year, the Parish has a

group of older children being Baptized, and now

these children will have nice outfits to wear to their

    Baptismal ceremony!

Mrs. Jennifer Sheridan’s 3rd graders were hard at

work in December preparing for the coming of the

baby Jesus. They made advent wreaths out of paper

plates and construction paper. They followed

directions given over Zoom, and their wreaths were

    all beautiful and unique!

These students are also learning the Apostles Creed

by breaking the prayer down into the three parts to

represent the three persons in one God. They

enjoyed tracing their hands and writing the parts of

    the prayer on each finger.

  • Our Parish depends solely on your generosity to meet each week’s expenses. Our regular Sun-day collections account for more than 60% of our operating budget. Your continued support, es-pecially during these difficult economic times, is both needed and appreciated.

Prayers for the Sick Let us continue to pray for peace. Let us also pray for all

those serving in the military or the Peace Corps.

With special care we pray especially for:

    Food Pantry

Below is a list of foods that we offer our clients all during the year. These items are always

needed. You may drop donations at Outreach, the Rectory and the Church. For your con-

venience, there are bins in the vestibule of the church. If you feel unsure of how and when

you can make a donation, for either the Outreach or the Parish, please call Outreach 516-

541-1260 or email [email protected] and I will be happy to speak to you. If you are inter-

ested in donating gift cards, it is most helpful if they are in smaller denominations ($10, $20

or $25) thereby allowing us to give to more people.

The Pantry is especially in need of the following items at this time:

**It is most helpful if you check the dates on your donations –

we are unable to distribute food that is expired. Gratefully,
