Pastor’s Letter

Dear Friends, The floor in the Hall was torn up this past week. I couldn’t help but think of all the happy memories that took place on that floor over the past 60 years: receptions, meetings, graduations, school assemblies, dinners, and yes, even Mass. The new

floor should be ready by mid-August. I think you will like it: it is a lighter colored wood with the panther logo in the middle. I was amazed that everyone I talked to and everyone that emailed me were quite positive about changing the Sunday Mass Schedule to 8, 10, and 12 Noon. About six months ago, I brought up the same subject and you were decidedly against the idea about changing anything. I think to myself if we can have an 8, 10, and 12 Noon schedule on Christmas, Palm Sunday, and Easter, why not the rest of the year? I still want to hear your comments regarding the possible Mass change along with your comments on why we should keep the present schedule. I am so proud of our youth and the great job Annie is doing with our young people. The Golf Tournament bought in over $23,000 and the Bake Sale last weekend bought in over $1,000. Thank you, Annie, thank you, young people, for putting God first and foremost in your lives.

Have a great summer week! Father Brian

A GRATEFUL PARISHIONER This past weekend I participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life Walk out at Hamilton School. It was wonderful to see Our Lady of Loretto Church's participation in the event. The generous effort and hard work was a great and meaningful addition to this annual community event. Over the past three years of my personal participation, I have seen other Novato churches but this past weekend was the first time I saw our Church out there at the track. I hope to see them again next year. The Novato Relay For Life Walk raised close to $75,000 for the American Cancer Society. Let's hope and pray that a cure is found for this dreaded disease.

Padre Brian
