Honegan, M.A.B.L. student, will present on this icon written by Mark Dukes in 2016, on display in ST's Gesù Chapel during November for Black Catholic History Month and as a part of ST's “Altarcito,” an altar of remembrance for those who have gone before us. This modern interpretation of medieval Eastern Orthodox iconography of Mary and Jesus features a compelling visual narrative on the threat of gun violence, especially against people of color.
