PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS MASS INTENTIONS

Please pray for the repose of the soul of parishioners Helen Shaughnessy, and Leslie Cocannon. May Christ, Our Saviour, give them everlasting rest.

Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) has begun in our Diocese. All regis-tered parishioners have received the appeal letter from Bishop Cag-giano. This year there is a special

emphasis on increasing the number of donors. To date, Our Lady of Fatima has raised 135 gifts worth $47,935 from 112 donors bringing the parish to 23.67% of its $202,500 goal.

Greetings Fatima Family, Did you read the good news? Finally we will be able to distribute Communion in a limited man-ner. I know many of you have many questions, but I ask that you hold off until we can give you a solid answer that is not subject to change. What I can tell you is that we have started to have outside Masses. We have set up a stage with an altar in the parking lot and have sound available. We will be limited to the number of cars we can serve and will try to live stream the Mass for those who choose to stay at home. There are many moving parts to this and we will roll them out as soon as we can. In the interim, we will need helping directing traffic and setting up. If you are interested, please let me know which Mass you can assist at. If this works well, we will continue using it for our Sunday celebrations. Please DO NOT call the office. We are short staffed and working on other very im-portant issues. We have a link for you to sign up on our web page. When we start Sunday Masses we will set aside one Mass for our Seniors. Please be patient as more information will be forthcoming.

Please stay safe and know that you are in our pray-ers. Fr. Reggie

Second collection this week is the Diocesan Catholic Communications Collection.

Reminder that

the Office will be closed on

Monday, May 25 for Memorial

Day.

added to FlockNote.

The church is open for private devo-tion but we ask that you limit your visits to times outside of Mass and not congregate in the church. Yes, you can light a candle. We are trying to keep the church open until 7PM on weekdays and until the last weekend Mass.

Congratulations to Kelli McCandles & Stephen Bulan

who were recently married.

Congratulations to all our recent College Graduates that were supposed to have a graduation this year. We are so very proud of you. And we know how hard it must be for you. You are in our prayers and we pray that you take the knowledge that you have just received to make our world a better place. God bless!

HOW TO GET A MASS CARD: Many have asked how they go about getting a Mass card. Certainly you may call the office and request one but the preferred method would be for you to email or write and let the office know who the Mass is for, whether they are deceased or alive, if you would like it mailed from the office with your name signed or mailed to you for a note inside and let the office know where to send the card. The cost is $15 for a single an-nounced Mass and $10 to be added to the Collective Intention list. Please understand that we can not allow you to come in to schedule a Mass due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Thank you to all Religious Education students who have submitted their final exams. If you still have not completed your test, please do so this week so the curriculum will be completed. Thank you.

Families of First Communicants and Confirmation candidates: We understand that you are anxious to know when these ceremonies will be scheduled. We assure you that as soon as we have information regarding the celebration of these sacraments, we will notify you.

During this challenging time, some of you may be looking into your heart and soul and asking if it is time to return to the active practice of your Catholic faith. If you have been "away" for any length of time, know that you are always welcome to re-join your family of faith. Simply contact Father Reggie ([email protected] or 203-762-3928) to talk about the issues that have kept you away. Your call will be welcomed and confidential.

Any non-Catholic adult who is interested in learning about the teachings of the Catholic Church may email Kathleen Rooney ([email protected]) to learn about the RCIA process here at Our Lady of Fatima. RCIA invites inquirers to meet with parishioners for prayer, reflection of Sunday Mass readings, and discussion of the beliefs of our faith.

FAITH FORMATION

ONLINE GIVING Online giving will help sustain our church.

If you can’t make Mass at our church, your donation will.

Online Giving allows you to make donations via your smart device or computer right to our church. Set up your gift today or consider an additional gift via our website on your smart device. If you need help, please call the office and someone will gladly walk you through it.

A message from Bishop Caggiano: Information on Outdoor Mass…... The faithful remain in their cars, parked in designated spaces, in a church’s park-

ing lot where Mass will be celebrated in a designat-ed area. The maximum number of cars admitted to each celebration of Mass depends upon three fac-tors: 1. The size of the parish parking lot; 2. The need to maintain six feet between parked cars; 3. Maintaining the ability for any car to exit freely from the lot in case of emergency. Provided that six feet of distance is maintained between parked cars, the windows of any car may remain open during the celebration of Mass. Distribution of Holy Communion In order to ensure that Holy Communion is distribut-ed in a safe and reverent manner, a separate set of protocols will be established governing both the dis-tribution of Communion either in the hand or on the tongue. In order to respect social distancing and depending upon the size of the area, no more than 49 persons can be on line for Holy Communion in any outdoor venue. Further, there is to be no distri-bution of Holy Communion for anyone who remains seated in a car, with the exception of those who may be disabled. Requirements for the Outdoor Celebration of Mass: An appropriate sound system must be provided for the full participation of the faithful. The use of a face mask that covers both the nose and mouth by the faithful will be required for all who attend Mass seated in their cars. During the celebration of out-door Mass, the church building must remain closed; The bathrooms of the church must remain closed. Please note that Fr Reggie has gotten approval of his plan on how this public outside Mass will work for OLF. We ask you to sign up for FlockNote to get updated information. See next page for info…...

Fr. Reggie and the Finance Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have responded to the recent letter that was mailed to all parishioner homes. We understand that you, too, are reaching difficult times and we truly appreciate all that you have sacrificed. May God continue to bless you and your family. And please if Fr Reggie can be of any help to you, please reach out.

SAINT OF THE WEEK May 24 Sometimes Jesus withdraws from us so that we may not attach ourselves too much to the joys of sense. When He withdraws, however, He sends the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, who sus-tains, helps, and consoles us. - St. Joseph Marello (1844-1895), Bishop, Cate-chist, Spiritual Director, Feast Day May 30
