The Feast of Corpus Christi / El Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo 3

Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of Fatima,/Queridos parroquianos y amigos de Nuestra Señora de Fátima,The priests of the Diocese of Orange will be on retreat this coming week at La Quinta Resort near Palm Desert. The annual retreat is mandated by Canon Law for the priests of Orange County in order to have some time for prayer and to bond with their fellow priests. Please pray for the diocesan priests while they are away.

The schedule of Masses during priest retreat week will continue as usual. On Monday, Farther William will celebrate the 7am and 8:30am Masses. Monday’s Mass at 8:30am will be a special Baccalaureate Mass for Our Lady of Fatima

School. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Father Francis Gloudeman, OPraem will celebrate the 7am and 8:30am Masses. I return from my pilgrimage to Rome on Thursday evening and will be available to celebrate Friday morning Mass at 7am and 8:30am.

On Friday afternoon our parish school will promote 34 eighth grade students to high school. The OLF School graduates will go on to Santa Margarita Catholic High School, JSerra Catholic High School and San Clemente High School. I am positive that they will perform well in their high school endeavors.

Finally, Our Lady of Fatima School is seeking a new principal for the academic year 2013-2014. I personally appreciate the dedication and sacrifice that Mrs. Nguyen gave to the school in the two years she was its principal. I wish her all the best in her future endeavors

Catholic Mens Fellowship MeetingSATURDAY, JUNE 8, 6:30-7:55AM / THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 7-8:30PMWe are called by God to be able to give reasonable answers in defense of our Catholic faith. We should be involved (even if it’s only a little) to be ready to have answers with gentleness and reverence. Join us as we discover how we explain our beliefs and justify our positions against non-Catholic misconceptions about the Catholic Church and its teachings. We are an informal group of men who discuss topics about faith, fatherhood and fraternity through Catholic eyes. We meet in McGowan Hall on the 2nd and 4th Saturday morn-ing of each month and on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evening. Our casual settings allow us to share modern issues that are sometimes up-close and personal. Contact Gil Manalo at [email protected] or Jim Ryder at [email protected]

Are you concerned about the poor, disadvantaged and marginalized?

OLF’s Social Awareness Leadership Team (SALT) was formed in January 2012 to engage our parish in the work of social ministry. SALT is now looking for new members to become part of this exciting leadership group. Are you looking for a meaningful way to live out your faith? Would you be willing to engage in prayerful reflection and education about the is-sues of our day? If you answered “yes” to any of these, contact SALT at [email protected] or pick up a brochure in the ocean vestibule. The team looks forward to hearing from you.
