• A Birmingham based social enterprise

• Works with a wide range of people, businesses and organisations

• Developing programmes and projects

• Promotes wellbeing, learning, skills development and creating employment opportunities

• Works with disadvantaged and unemployed youth

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

• We were involved in VETIP from the very beginning

• Wrote the bid in partnership with Clevercherry

• Wanted to update our programmes

• Offer students a new route to success

• Find a new way to deal with shortage of suitable jobs

• Ecommerce entrepreneurship as a career path

OUR BENEFICIARIES

• Main group was 16-18 year old apprentices

• More established ‘one man band’ businesses

• Disadvantaged and unemployed groups

• Real mix of abilities, from almost non-existent skills to highly proficient but with little direction

• Very different levels of motivation

WHAT WE ACTUALLY DID

• Ecommerce workshops with apprentices and work skills learners

• One-to-one support for external entrepreneurs

• Business mentoring for potential start-ups

• Specialist workshops in product photography, content marketing and social media

THE DIFFERENCE IT’S MADE

• Three newly established ebusinesses

• One already proving very successful

• Hopefully more to come very soon

• Several young people in employment

• Ecommerce now an integral part of programmes
