Our focus on Money Matters

Pastor Andy started a new month by

teaching us a new word - Relewardship

This mashup between relationshipand stewardship kicked off aseries of messages he has titledMoney Matters adapted from aprogram developed at

Ginghamsburg UMC in Ohio

Mike Slaughter developed the Money Matters concept at Ginghamsburg andhas since published books and other materials to spread the concept Overthe next four weeks Pastor Andy will interpret those concepts to help usunderstand the role money plays in our lives - and the role it plays in the life ofthe church And how those two intersect

Heres how you can get involved in Money Matters beyond attending some veryinteresting Sunday worship opportunities There will two meeting times open tothe congregation to have an informal discussion with Pastor Andy and theFinance Team to gain a better understanding of the challenges Lehman has inthe areas of giving budgeting and direction for our church The first is open tothose who tithe that is those who strive to match the Biblical challenge ofgiving 10 of their income While thats interpreted in several different ways ifyou give to this level you are invited to join us on Friday October 18th at 7 pmin Fellowship Hall The second meeting open to all who would like to join us will

be held on Tuesday October 29th at the same time and in the same place

Most importantly we hope you and your guests would plan to be in worshipespecially on November 3rd where the entire church will be together for onesingle service at 1030 During that service we will recognize All SaintsSunday and those who have joined the great cloud of witnesses receive newmembers share communion together and present estimates of giving for 2020After worship ALL are invited to join together off-site for lunch at a place to bedetermined and communicated soon where the church can offer thanks for yoursacrificial giving and share the results of our estimates and the other outcomesof our month-long study of Money Matters

You can also help our friends at HAT Packs make this a great Halloween forall children

They are collecting donations of childrenrsquos Halloween costumes and will bedistributing them so that all kids can join in the fun So if you have new or gentlyused costumes for kids of all ages right through the teen years please bringthem to the office or the narthex after service This will give the costumes asecond life - no that doesnrsquot make them zombies - and make this a moreenjoyable Halloween for a child

Seeking new membersPastors Nancy and Andy would like to make an open invitation to those whoare interested in formally connecting with the church by joining them for a newmembers class to be held on Saturday November 2 from 9 am to noonLetters will be sent to those we know of However if we have inadvertentlymissed you you are still invited Just give us a call And please share this withothers who may not regularly get the Flame
