Between FriendsAdventurers Program

2017 has been an exciting one at Between Friends, starting with our 35th

anniversary celebration. We wish to celebrate you for your commitment to us through your support of our Adventurers Programs. Your continued support is integral to our organization’s vitality and it is investments such as yours that allow us to offer quality programming for our eager members. Your ongoing dedication means that Between Friends can continue to provide incredible experiences for adults with disabilities in Calgary. As you know, Between Friends has been providing quality social, recreation and self-development opportunities for people with disabilities for 35 years. We subsidize the cost of all programming so our services are widely accessible for our members. In addition to this subsidy, families with low incomes who qualify, have the opportunity to apply for additional fee assistance. Without this subsidy, a large part of our programming would be inaccessible for our families due to the high cost of providing services for individuals with disabilities.

Our membership grew from 756 members in 2016 to 794 in 2017; another record number of participants of all ages eager to connect, grow and belong through our year-round programming. Individuals with disabilities experienced an outlet for self-expression and self-development, increased their mental and physical health, and improved skills while having fun with their peers.

You make a difference in our community and in our organization. We deeply appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing more members experiencing a world of opportunities they may never have had if it weren’t for you. Thank you.
