MARTHA - One of our consumers is a 52 year old female who recently relocated to the Tampa area. She was living in her truck, which was not in good condition, and looking for a place to stay until she was able to get back on her feet. We called a shelter and she was able to secure housing for her. We assisted her with soft skills training, as well as obtaining employment. She is now employed at Health Plan Services as an Accounts Payable Specialist, earning $15.00 per hour. She also has her own apartment, and is purchasing more reliable transportation. She is grateful for this assistance we provided to her.

CINDY - Another one of our consumers is a 44 year old female who was also homeless. We referred her to a Pastor who was in need of a house monitor for 4 women living in transitional housing. If she was accepted, she would be able to live there rent free. She was accepted. She was referred to The Centre’s Counseling and Wellness program, and received counseling from one of our Master’s level counselors. We supplied the consumer with bus passes so that she could travel back and forth to interviews and soft skills workshops conducted by The Centre. In April she obtained employment at Aramark as a Bulk Folder, earning $11.25 per hour. She now has an apartment of her own.
