One of our English teachers described her experience teaching at Oasis with these words, “I have such joy in the work, love meeting new friends, and seeing God move. Just being in the Oasis environment lifts me up.” A wonderful team of teachers and child care workers faithfully taught on average 40 students each Tuesday and Thursday from September through May. Often, when I take some of our students home, I ask them “How was your class?” and they respond with “Oh, very good, my teacher is so kind.” The young moms from Burma, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Syria, and Kurdistan who come to class are like sisters and daughters to all of the teachers. The older ladies from Liberia are like our older sisters! They are all so dear to our hearts. Many of their children who come to child care at Oasis are experiencing their first time away from mom. Our volunteers have so much love and patience with these little ones and before long they are happy, comfortable and having fun! So...thank you everyone. My heart is so grateful for you! Henna Day at English class was amazing fun.

The ladies loved the art work of Janie

Grossmann and the storytelling of MJ

Grossmann, who told the Creation to Cross

story in 10 minutes. It is displayed to the right

in henna… can you make out the parts of the

story? If you have a talent or gift you’d like to

share with refugees, maybe music or art? Please
