Lower the risk in farming activities by developing and delivering effective system on occupational safety and health for the ARBs and their households to increase productivity.

WHAT HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED (August 2005 – July 2006)

1. Covered three agrarian reform communities in Isabela

2. Trained 24 OSH-WIND Champions and 27 paratechnicians.

3. Trained 91 OSH-WIND ARB couples

4. Drafted 1 OSH-WIND Manual for Rice-producing ARCs including OSH measures on handling fertilizers and pesticides and the job hazard analysis on rice farming

5. Produced 5 relevant IECM materials e.g., fliers, flipchart, brochure, comics and teaser

6. Conducted OSH WIND caravan as part of social marketing

7. Prepared guidelines for awards and recognition and corresponding evaluation tool

Managing Farm Chemicals

Before farms chemicals used to scattered in the backyard of OSH WIND Couple Ronel and Robilyn Daguro of San Manuel ARC, Echague, Isabela. Upon learning in OSH

WIND seminar that this practice is hazardous, they put up a simple warehouse to store their farm chemicals properly.

Managing Farm Produced

Farm produced of OSH WIND Couple Hermenegildo Acob of Esperanza East, Aurora, Isabela used to be found scattered in

their warehouse. These farm produced are now properly arranged in a safe place in their warehouse.

Use of Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) during Palay Winnowing

Nannete Dizo and Baby De la Cruz, both members of OSH WIND Couples of Brgy. Bagnos, Alicia, Isabela were not using any PPEs during palay winnowing before. Upon

their attendance to the OSH WIND seminar and training the previous practice was improved. They are now using PPEs like eye protector while doing this work .
