1. Transition
As you are aware, our vice principal, Erin Cranney, is currently
shared between Oscar Peterson P.S. and Wendat Village P.S. In
response to increasing enrolment in the Stouffville area, we are
implementing a staffing transition to ensure support at both school
locations. Effective March 23, Mrs. Cranney and Mrs. Durfy,
currently the vice principal at Armitage Village P.S., will begin
sharing the VP duties at Oscar Peterson. Mrs. Cranney will use this
transition time to share information about the students, school and
community with Mrs. Durfy. She will gradually decrease her time at
OPPS with the eventual shift to full time support at Wendat Village
P.S. in June. We look forward to welcoming Mrs. Durfy to OPPS. She
brings with her several years of experience serving as vice
principal in a number of Newmarket area schools.
2. Pizza and Sub Lunches
Our final pizza order forms of the year will be distributed
around February 25th and are due back by Wednesday, March 11th.
This form will carry us through from the week after March Break
until the end of the school year.
The next Subway order form will be distributed around March 11th
and will be due back by Wednesday,
March 25th. March Break will be in the middle of this time, so
please do not lose track of getting your form in by the deadline.
This order will cover Wednesday April 1st to Wednesday, May
6th.
For both pizza and subs, no late orders will be accepted, so
please hand your orders in on time. If you have any questions,

2. Robotics
On March 11, the junior and intermediate robotics teams will be
competing at the YRDSB robotics championships in Nobleton. We wish
them good luck at the competition.

3. National Flag Day
On February 15th Canadians celebrated the 50th anniversary of
our flag. National Flag of Canada Day was a time to celebrate the
shared values and traditions that are fundamental to our identities
as Canadians. To celebrate and bring awareness as a school we
gathered around the flag pole and sang O’Canada as Mr. Gilmore
raised the flag.
