Technicalities

• WinCCOA (PVSS) distributed system

• ~ 23k datapoints

• ~ 24k parameters with alert handling

• ~ 39k parameters archived, archiving cycles as fast as 1 s

• ~ 4.7 x 109 values stored. Data streamed to a replica database

LIP full responsibility since 2003.

Very challenging (# of channels and variety of detectors), it

served as test bench for LHC experiments

Versatility and parallelism allow for the integration of new

detectors and control parameters at any time

Conclusions

• LIP gave sound contributions in the R&D and in the

construction of both CMS and ATLAS (with COMPASS

as test bench for DCS)

• The present R&D projects and know how qualify the

LIP teams to actively contribute to the upgrades and

beyond

• The extent of the actual contributions (especially for the

HL-LHC) will depend on the resources to be made

available
