The 14th annual "30-Hour

Famine Campaign" sponsored

by World Vision was held August

9-10 on Taichung's National Chung

Hsing University campus. Heavenly

Melody was invited to perform

during the 20th hour of the

participants' fast. ORTV's founder,

Doris Brougham, was also among

the performers. She shared from

her own experience, saying that as

long as one has a willing heart to

help, change can occur. Go to

www.worldvision.org to read more

about the ministry of World Vision.

In August, the Sony Corporation and virtual imaging company

Orad set up a virtual reality screen in ORTV's media center where

they hosted a seminar introducing the use of this cutting edge

technology. Virtual reality production will help us enhance quality

and efficiency in the fi lming process. Visit the Web site at

www.orad.tv to learn more about this exciting new technology.

Pray for us as our technicians and TV teachers learn how to use

this new technology.

On August 9, ORTV moved its Taichung

branch office into a new facility. ORTV

directors Doris Brougham and Simon Hung

joined Jason Hu, the mayor of Taichung, and

Pastor Hsiao from Taichung Banner Church for

the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mayor Hu, a long-

time fan of Studio Classroom, gave a speech at

the ceremony, sharing how Studio Classroom

has helped him learn English.

The choir members were grateful for the opportunity to serve in this way

In July, Heavenly Melody

began recording two

new English albums. One

album, a Christmas

collection entitled "All Is

Well," was produced in

response to the number

of recent world tragedies.

In a world filled with

disease, terrorism and

famine, "All Is Well" gives

the comforting message

that God is sovereign

and is seeking to give

His peace to everyone.

The English Zone has been designed to

motivate Beijing Olympics Committee

staff to enjoy learning English through

stimulating media produced by Studio

Classroom, reports Beijing Branch Director

Bruce Liu. Beginning in August, several

Studio Classroom teachers, including

Marijane Elliott and Debra Thoreson, will

help the learners practice interactively in an

English environment. For more information,

see www.beijing-2008.org.

As a result of the

recent SARS

scare, ORTV began

a community service

campaign called "Making

Taiwan More Love-able."

The campaign seeks to shift

people's attitudes from

selfishness and rudeness

to lovingkindness for

others by showing the

perfect model: God's love

for mankind. May God's

perfect love truly make

Taiwan more love-able. Go to

www.StudioClassroom.com

to hear the theme song.

Taiwan's southern city of Tainan is filled with enthusiasm for learning English. ORTV staff member Wilma Tan has been working non-stop to meet the requests of the Tainan City and County governments and schools. Recently, ORTV teacher Nancy Besson joined Wilma in Tainan. We praise God for the many opportunities He has given us!

ORTV teacher Nancy Besson, who helped lead an English camp in Tainan, says, "The camp was a lot of fun. The sessions went by so quickly!"

We wrote and recorded a theme song, produced a music video and asked our students to wr i te t rue stories of loving things done by loving people

As part of the campaign, ORTV

also held a sidewalk sale to raise funds for underprivileged

children

Emily Parrino and her husband,

Joe, developed a bilingual teaching

program at a local private school in

Taipei. She joins our English staff to

help with a variety of editorial tasks.

Under the leadership of Doris Brougham, the

Heavenly Melody Singers will perform 16

concerts for overseas Chinese in Austria, Italy,

France, England and Northern Ireland from

September 3-27, 2003. A special guest performer,

Suzanne Zhu, will tour with the choir. Pray that the

Lord will accomplish His purposes as they travel.
