F or the past 10 years, ORTV missionary-at-largePastor Dale Wine and his wife Esther have been

working closely with Mission Emanuel Church in Korce,Albania. Dale's role over the years has primarily beenpreaching in the region and raising support for thechurch's various ministries. He also serves as an advisorfor the church's new projects. One of those projects hasbeen the church's own Christian radio station.

Pastor Dale first dreamed of Christian radio in Albania back in 1993. At thetime, such a venture seemed impossible. But he persisted in bringing the ideato various supporters. The donations began to roll in. In 1996, the radio station launched with a setup of basic broadcasting equipment.

In the years since, donations have helped the radio station expand itsministry. Three years ago, an ORTV donation of $6,000 helpedMission Emanuel's radio ministry build its first studio building.Additionally, ORTV recently pledged $300 dollars a month to supportsix university students who are working on the radio broadcasts.

Mission Emanuel Radio's programs include a variety of Gospel andeducational shows, including Albanian versions of ORTV's English-teaching programs. Having recently acquired another small station inthe southwestern city of Erseka, Mission Emanuel Radio now has thewattage to reach nearly the entire country of Albania. "God is moving," says Pastor Dale Wine. "And the Gospel is changing hearts."

Dale and Esther Wine, who for many years were

missionaries to Taiwan, fre-quently return to the islandfor short ministry trips. Theynow serve as ORTV's mis-sionaries-at-large.

Dale and Esther recently had the opportunity to lead a group of TaiwaneseChristians on a short trip tosouthern Taiwan. Here'swhat Dale had to say:

During our recent visit to Taiwan, it was a great joy to have a group fromthe Seattle Formosa Christian Church accompany us. They were DrRobert Chen and his wife Carol, Tom and Lydia Khu and Mark Lee andhis wife Sachi. Being retired, all of these friends have a desire to spendtheir time testifying of the goodness of the Lord in their own lives.

We spent eight wonderful days together accompanying Pastor Paul Chuand his wife Joanne, visiting various prisons, detention centers and drugrehabilitation centers in Tainan County, Southern Taiwan. Private nursinghome visits were also on our schedule. Dr. and Mrs. Hwang of Tainan, made our stay there mostcomfortable and conven-ient by accommodating allof us in their lovely home.

ORTV’s teacher training seminars in mainland China continue to be a success.During the recent seminars in the Xinjiang region, ORTV teachers were able to

become good friends with many of the people who attended the seminars. Plans forfuture seminars have been uncertain recently, due to the SARS situation in the mainland, but ORTV hopes to return to China later this summer.

When I heard from you, I told everyone who teachesEnglish in my school. They all had the same feeling:Happy and excited.

After finishing the teaching skills lessons, we all cameback to school. We use the new teaching skills in ourclassrooms. Some skills are very useful, such as how tomake a lesson objective and how to teach a long text.Sometimes we get together to talk about our teachingplans. We all thank you for teaching us so well!

Thank you for caring for the people of Xingjiang.
