2002 OCTOBER–DECEMBER

In "A Story of Love," the central character, Maliamick, could not deliver herself from the black spots that stuck to her. We,

likewise, cannot become righteous by our own efforts. This is awork that can be done only by our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, whois the Lamb of God.

The ancient Chinese seemed to understand this concept. Fromtheir earliest writings the character for "righteousness" ( ) pictures the "lamb" ( ) placed over "me" ( ). So, in a pictorialsense, "the lamb over me" means "righteousness" to the Chinese.

February 2003 begins the Chinese New Year, the Year of theSHEEP. We hope that many in Asia will come to know that theytoo can become righteous by accepting the LAMB of God whotakes away the sin of the world.

During this year's Christmas season, ORTVsent a group of its teachers and singers into

seven cities around the island with an uplifting program entitled "A Story of Love,"–an adaptationof Max Lucado's popular book, You Are Special.Included in the program were songs as well asskits, games and English activities. "A Story ofLove" reminded the students that their true valuecomes from their Maker.

These Christmas rallies conducted by ORTVstaff each year often prompt up to 10,000requests for follow-up information on becoming aChristian or knowing more about God.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

T he WORD is spreading! Have you heard? Every week we sharethe Word of God with 450-500 students! That's right, every

week! We have begun another Bible study, working with the Breadof Life Church in Shih-Lin, a suburb of Taipei. Bread of Life is passionate about evangelizing, so it is the fastest-growingchurch in Taiwan. We are thrilled to cooperate with them inreaching souls. We also continue to work together with Home ofChrist, another thriving church in Taipei. Each week students gatherto sing, learn English, make friends, and most importantly, to studyGod's Word. Pray with us that these students may come to knowChrist and that the Word will powerfully transform their lives.

HTC, the world's largest original designmanu fa c t u r e r o f Po cke t PC and

Smartphone products, is based in northernTaiwan, just one hour's drive from ORTV'sheadquarters in Taipei. This company supplies48% of the world's Pocket PC using WinCE.When the owner, a Christian, decided to offertop-level managers an opportunity to improvetheir English skills, they called ORTV, andguess what book they have chosen to study inorder to improve their English? Yes, the Bible!

After prayerful consideration, Doris appointedTroy Peterson to lead a three-person team, including Leah Chen and Jason Roloff, inteaching the book of Proverbs.

The response? After the first session, Jasonreported that the managers were surprised tosee how the biblical proverbs, in many cases, were similar to Chinese proverbs. By begin-ning with Proverbs, the wisdom book of theBible, these managers see how relevant theBible's message is to life–even in the 21st

century. Pray for these Bible study sessions on the 1st

and 3rd Saturday afternoons of each month.
