In the late 1920’s, close to a million orphans roamed the dirty streets of New York City. A very fortunate few were placed on Orphan Trains and sent west, looking for loving homes. As the final Orphan Train departs the City, a last-minute orphan is added to the cargo – a mysterious lile boy with no past. The boy is guided and guarded by a friendonly he can see. Worlds of faith and evil, love and greed collide as the train makes its way to Kansas. ORPHAN TRAIN By Dennis North

Alice plunges down the rabbit hole and becomes involved in that madcap and deliciously satiric series of adventures immortalized by Lewis Carroll. Dramatized as a series of fourteen episodes from Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, this play is a kaleidoscope of action and madness, with the necessary elements of suspense and frustration to make it all fun.

What can be said about Sister Act? It was Fabulous Baby!! Our cast brought audiences to their feet with show stopping songs and dances. Based on the hit movie, theatre goers were treated to all new songs and an awesome 70’s vibe. Many thanks to all the people behind the scenes, from our set builders, costumers, production team and choreographer. Without you, our show could not go on. Keep attending theatre, it warms the heart and expands the mind.

What a Sparklejollytwinklejingley time we had last December. Audiences were taken into a fantasy adventure with Buddy the Elf and welcomed the holiday season with lots of sugar and song. The cast of 40 was the perfect blend of old and new performers that every director wants. From our lead Elf to our “ice” skating teens, this show brought smiles to everyone on and off stage. Pinckney Players strives to bring quality and entertaining opportunities to our youth, so they can grow in the theatre and in life. Keep theatre in your life and be Happy all the Time.

Once again, a grand time was had in the park. For the first time we had to take advantage of the generosity of the Pinckney Library and hold Shakespeare in the Library on Saturday night. The cast and crew had the time of their life and the Pinckney Players look forward to bringing more from the Bard to our community again.

ADVERTISERS NEEDED!!

Just imagine the opportunity for your ad to appear in our show programs! Where could you spend as little as $125.00 and reach thousands of Livingston County consumers? More than 5,000 theatre-goers attended a Pinckney Players’ show last season alone! With your help, we can continue to be one of the premier Livingston County community theatre organizations. Last season, we featured three main stage shows at the Jane Tasch Performing Arts Theatre: Sister Act, Elf Jr and Curtains. Not to mention other favorites in the past like: Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Annie Jr, Addams Family and our annual Shakespeare in the Park series that included, As You Like It, Comedy of Errors and this season’s hit comedy, 12th Night. Please contact Suzanne Rutkowski [email protected] for additional details including the perks you get as an advertiser. What could be better than free tickets to an awesome Pinckney Players’ show?

After searching for many months to find a world class who done it, Curtains was the perfect show for the Pinckney Players. This musical comedy features a show-within-a-show, where the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage and the entire cast & crew are suspects. Featuring a star studded cast, it was a fabulous show with a big Broadway feel, including the amazing costumes by Harriett Robson, and huge dance numbers choreographed by Annie Yockie. A special thanks to show sponsor Sound Financial and season sponsor David Mueller and Associates. Without your support, we could not bring these musicals to Pinckney and the surrounding community. As you know, the show must go on!

Don’t forget to keep your kids involved by signing them up for our Summer Musical Theatre Camp. Each year, through Pinckney Community Education, the Pinckney Players take over the stage for camp. Your kids learn everything from costume design, lighting, sound effects, set

building and of course acting. Summer 2019 will bring another excited camp show to the Jane Tasch Theatre. Check our website for details.

MEN!!! The Pinckney Players are looking at some wonderful shows for the future that are showcasing a larger male cast. Mamma Mia needs several male dancers, or at least not afraid to try and dance-ers, to join all the women in the cast. If you are interested, don’t be afraid to get involved. Let us know if you are interested in having a blast on stage. We encourage everyone to audition, even if it’s your first experience in the theatre. Contact us for any details. We look forward to sharing our love of theatre with you.

Kicking off the 2019/2020 season is another first for Livingston County!!

Auditions will be in June 2019 with show dates in October, but mark your calendars now.
