From the desk of the Personal Representative

It’s A New Year!

Well, we’ve all had time to rest up from the holidays and I trust all went well for our members. My wife Debbie and I would like to say this past year has been an outstanding one for us and we hope you also share our feelings of contentment and satisfaction with the direction Scottish Rite Masonry has gone. We have tried a lot of new ideas and are constantly looking for other new ideas to share with you, not only at our meetings but for special events throughout the year.

This next year will be filled with special programs as we continue to try new things and promote family activities at the Orlando Scottish Rite Masonic Center. We will continue to host a few open meetings for all to enjoy and plan to bring in a few key motiva-tors to enlighten our meetings with items of interest and current events from around the world.

We also plan to host what is becoming an annual event with the Masters and Wardens of the 17th Masonic District creating a forum to bring masonry to the community and showcase what masonry is and how being a Mason can improve a man’s life.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could partner with the other districts to bring something like this to their areas? Keep an eye out on the Valley’s eNewlstter we publish every 1st and 15th of the month. If you are not on our mailing list, send me a note and we’ll add you.

We are going to try something a little different this year and promote a Military Show at our Masonic Center. Brother Aldis Grauds will have more on that for you and we’ll also post this on the web site. We have a lot of activities planned for all members in many areas of interest. Come on out to our meeting in January and see what you have been missing. If you made the Holiday Extravaganza Party this past year, you will agree with me it was one of our very best. The Kitchen Crew under the exceptional leadership and guidance of the ever humble Ill. Paul Smith may never be matched in quality and quantity. Not a sole went away hungry or dissatisfied.

Ill. Zeb E Blanton, Jr., 33° Personal Representative of the S.G.I.G. Valley of Orlando

KCCH Court of Honor Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased from Keith or one of the KCCH Club officers. Also, we plan to continue with the Lodge

visitation program in 2009. Stay tuned and we will begin with

visitations after lodge installations are completed. Please try to

attend our KCCH Club meetings which will be held every other

month. We hope to see you there.

Steve Teal, 32° KCCH, Commander KCCH Court of Honor.

My Brothers,

I am humbled and honored to be elected Commander of the KCCH Club. Our major fund-raising event this year will be the

Mystery Dinner Theater on 2/13/09. This promises to be a fun-

filled evening and the proceeds go to the SR Foundation. Please

mark your calendars and bring your ladies, friends and

neighbors to this event.

What Americans are noted for, is the ability that when times are hard, we rise above and extend a helping hand to those who are less fortunate than we. People not looking for the proverbial pat on the back, or lofty praise, but just go quietly about their lives, knowing in their hearts and minds they are following the Masonic creed of charity and brotherly love and affection. Our Scottish Rite Foundation could not exist without those of you who have and continue to support the fourteen language disorder clinics that we support financially; did you know that these clinics are not Scottish Rite Clinics run by members of the Rite? I was amazed to learn that there is a great misconception within the Scottish Rite Fraternity, that we have a say so in the daily

operation of these clinics! We only provide to them funds as we are able from the monies generated from people like you! As we are starting another year, I personally want to thank all of you who have contributed and continue to do so! Without your help and assistance the Consistory and the Foundation would just be an empty building and a named Charity with no purpose! Thanks again for all that you do! It does not go un-noticed!

Fraternally, Ron Trinkle, 32° KCCH Orlando Scottish Rite Trustee

Tis the season for giving…and what better gift to give to our

newer Master’s of the Royal Secret than your knowledge,

experience and encouragement. I know that we have asked

this of you several times, and to that end, it is the gift that keeps giving!

Our annual numbers are in from our four district mentoring

chairman, and at this point in time it appears that we have

had an mentor assigned to each new 32° brother, and that this program and process is active and on-going. We thank

each and every one of you who have assisted in this pro-

gram. I am sure that these brothers who have benefited by

your gift of your time, attention and talent thank you also.

Tis also the season for Blue Lodge installations…The beginning of

a new year, a new slate of officers, a renewal of our commitment

to Masonry and the Craft. Again, this would and should be a

wonderful opportunity to initiate, or continue with greater commit-ment, a mentoring program within your lodges. Just as NO new

Master of the Royal Secret should be without a mentor, so it

stands to reason that NO newly raised Master Mason should be

without the same benefit of a mentor at that time. Only you can

make this happen and see to this program’s successful continuance.

Again, we thank you your time, effort and commitment, and wish you Happy Holidays and the very best for the New Year.

Thank you!

Who will be next? Who will be next to BRING A MASTER MASON CLASS TO SCOTTISH RITE? For some time I have been trying to get an entire class of new Master Masons to continue their Masonic careers together in Scottish Rite Ma-sonry. So far, this has not happened. This would be a great honor and distinction not only for the Class as well as the Lodge, the Lodge Aide, the SR Club and the Orlando Scottish

Rite Masonic Center. There is ample time to pull this off for our 2009 Spring Reunion. Who will be next?

Showcasing the Brotherhood

My Brothers,

Have you ever wondered about what makes Masonry so grand in the great scheme of things? Is it its’ buildings like our Lodges or is it our rituals and degrees. Maybe it’s our members that make this fraternity the best the world has ever seen. I am here to tell you that

the reason that our Fraternity is the best is all of the above. We have an organization that is designed to build every interested per-

son into a better citizen, person and brother. We are struggling with getting the word out about our fraternity. This is where this pro-

gram comes into play. It’s called “Showcasing the Brotherhood”.

Last year we had begun a new program designed to assist our lodges by giving them an opportunity to come together and showcase

our brotherhood to non-masons of the community. These non-masons will consist of our friends, clients, peers and other individuals that

we meet and do business with on a regular basis. We have invited, as we did last year, all the college fraternities at the University

of Central Florida. One major addition to this program is that we have invited the men who serve this great country of ours to attend

this event as well. We have many men coming back from over seas and this is a great time to thank them and give them an opportu-

nity to join our ranks as well.

This program will be held on February 21, 2008 at the Orlando Scottish Rite Center. The doors will open at 5:00 pm with displays,

video presentations, tours of the building and other historical items that will be offered to our guests. We will also be presenting a

superb play, “The Rose Upon the Altar”, that will be preformed by the brothers from the 26th Masonic District. This play will begin at

5:30 pm with dinner and program following the play. All Brothers are welcome to attend however I would ask of you to make every

attempt to bring along a non-mason who is interested in learning more about our Fraternity. Remember that the purpose of this eve-ning is to share the word of Freemasonry with others.

I would like to thank to all the Masonic lodges of the 17th District that have seen the importance of this program and have donated

generously for the cost of the meal for this evening. I would extend this request to all the Masonic lodges within the Valley to consider

aiding this program by donating time, talents and money to help continue the success of this event. Monetary donations can be made to the Orlando Scottish Rite with a note indicating that it is for the Showcase.

Please help us make this “Showcasing the Brotherhood” a Valley-wide success. Please donate your time and talents. If you have any

questions about this program please contact me either at [email protected] or at 321-239-2467.

Fraternally yours in service,

Dear Brothers,

,A new year is upon us and I would like to thank the brothers for

electing me to Venerable Master, and hope you had a good

holiday season. I will endeavor to do everything to represent

and lead the Knights of Saint Andrew to the best of my ability. I also would like to thank all those brothers who were elected and

have stepped forward to serve as officers. Thanks to Illustrious

Zeb Blanton our White Hat Advisor and Brother George Dow our

Red Hat advisor and I look forward to their wisdom and experi-

ence throughout the year.

Our first meeting is January 23 and we will meet at 5:45. At that

meeting we would like to compile a list of those who haven’t

been knighted. On February 27 we will again be called upon to

provide our saber team as we welcome the Sovereign Grand

Inspector General Robert L. Goldsmith for the Double Eagle

Awards presentation that night.

As my predecessors before me I look for the guidance and help

of all to make this a successful year. We hope to establish and

open line of communication to all Knights of Saint Andrew mem-

bers via e-mail or phone calls so our attendance may increase.

Knights of Saint Andrews

We will endeavor to be the workers in the trenches of the

valley to assist our White and Red hats when necessary,

and it is my hope and desire that our new brothers learn

that there are opportunities for them to get involved and not sit on the sideline. With everything in store this year my

hope is that we create new friendships and renew old ones,

continue our Masonic education, devote more time to our

charitable causes and valley, and inspire others to travel

and search for light in masonry.

In doing all this we can see why Masonry and Scottish Rite

are the best things going in our world today. I truly feel the

valley is going to be full of energy this year and look for-

ward to seeing you at our next meeting. Should you need

anything don’t hesitate to contact me by the following
