Executive summary

The ORION website is one of the main dissemination channel for the project and its activities. It has been prepared and launched though a collaborative process.

The coordinator and the project manager contacted first the Company Tresa to design the project logo (seen at the header of each page). In this way the design of the project website could be based on the “look and feel” of the logo. Next, the design of the website’s preliminary content was discussed between the project manager, the coordinator and the VA partner, in charge of WP6 “Outreach and embedding”. After this, the ScienSeed company was selected to develop the ORION website. The website content will be managed by VA and the project manager, together with the support of an internal editorial board. Moreover, VA and the project manager have opened a twitter account and a Facebook page, which are also included on ORIONS’s homepage (see snapshot at the annex section).

In addition, partners are creating and developing specific institutional pages to present Open Science and the ORION project.

Introduction

The ORION project website is the reference site to communicate all activities related to the project.

ORION website is live since Friday 3rd November, 2017: http://www.orion-openscience.eu/.

ORION’s website has been created by the CRG and VA to disseminate results, activities and training events promoted by the project, as well relevant Open Science and RRI events and key concepts. It also provides direct links to ORION twitter account (@ORION_opensci) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ORIONOpenScience/).

More specifically it includes the following sections (see snapshots in Annex I):

Home, including dynamic banners with key messages, latest news, calendar and

links to Twitter and Facebook,

About ORION, including information on partners, associated partners and advisory

board

News, with latest news about the ORION project

Events, listing relevant and ORION-specific public events

Activities, including specific activities promoted by ORION, like co-creation

experiments and training

Publications, listing all ORION publications, including public deliverables, papers,

etc.

Resources, highlighting key concepts in RRI and Open Science and linking to related

projects.

The website is hosted at the CRG, and the content created and managed with the DRUPAL content management system.

The CRG in collaboration with VA and an editorial board will continuously improve and update the ORION’s website content during the project lifetime.

Institutional webpages on Open Science

Each ORION partner has agreed to create new institutional webpages dedicated to ORION and/or Open Science and RRI, including policies and practices in place, relevant links and news, success stories and debates. A few examples are included below:

Conclusions

The ORION website is now operational, and will be regularly updated as projects´ activities developed. Partners will be encourages to develop further institutional pages illustrating ORION, Open Science and RRI.
