Main mandate of the Institute is to develop and improve sustainable farming systems for different agro-climatic and socio-economic conditions of NEH Region, including organic agriculture.

ABOUT ASSOCIATION OF PLANT PATHOLOGISTThe association of plant pathologist (Central India) was established in the year, 2005 with the primary goal of developing and assisting with all scientific endeavours in the field of plant pathology, biotechnology and microbiology Society members look to organize exhibitions, workshops, seminars and guest lectures, both independently as well as in collaboration with various governmental and autonomous institutions in order to promote plant pathology and related subjects. In addition, the society looks after the welfare of farming communities and provides necessary advice regarding plant protection measures. One of our priorities is to encourage research activities in this field among academicians, achieved by publishing the JOURNAL OF PLANT DISEASE SCIENCES continuously since, 2005 – 14th editions is currently in print and we continue to attract good NAAS ratings. Recently, the society has launched its own website: www.appjpds.org, where achieved versions of the journal are available free of charge. The journal is abstracted by several agencies, including CABI, and is well appreciated by the scientific community.
