The mission of the HHS IDEA Lab is to make the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services stronger through innovation
• The Innovator in Residence program was established in 2012 to promote innovation in health and healthcare through public-private partnerships
• For this program, the HHS IDEA Lab partners with private, not-for-profit organizations to explore areas of mutual interest
• The ORGANIZE Innovator in Residence is the 4th participant in this program

The ORGANIZE Innovator in Residence is a two-year position focused on identifying ways to increase the number of lives saved through organ donation and transplantation
Goal of the ORGANIZE Innovator in Residence Program
• Identify the best governmental and policy levers to increase the amount of lives saved through organ donation, working closely with ORGANIZE, the Health Resources and Services Administration Division of Transplantation, and stakeholders across the donation and transplantation ecosystem

• How might we effectively increase the number of successful and beneficial transplants in the United States?

The next phase is the refinement of potential projects to pursue in the remaining 18 months of the Innovator in Residence position
• Currently working to refine potential projects in partnership with the Health Resources and Services Administration Division of Transplantation, teams across the Department of Health and Human Services, IIR advisors, ORGANIZE, and stakeholders across the donation and transplantation ecosystem
• Develop metrics and methods to measure impact of the project(s)
