The Finance Division (FD) is the most elite bureaucratic division under the Finance Ministry's

purview. The FD comes under the supervision of the ecretary of Finance ! an office held by Dr

"a#ar Masood $han as of %& .

The division's bureaucracy is divided into several win s and units as listed below*

• +uman ,esource Mana ement (+,M) "in * -asic functions include the official business

mana ement of the or anisation throu h the provision of effective human resource . The win

also provides lo istic support to various other units of the or anisation. [%]

• -ud et "in * -asic functions include the coordination! preparation! printin and publishin

of fiscal bud ets and related documents for the federal overnment. The win is also

responsible for the implementation of the bud etary tar ets and preparin monthly reports

thereon. [ ]

• /orporate Finance "in * -asic functions include loo0in after the economic! financial! and

corporate affairs of all 1ublic ector 2ntities (1 2s) that wor0 under the administrative control of

various federal ministries and their divisions. [ ]

• 2conomic 3dviser's (23) "in * -asic functions include the publication of the Economic

Survey of Pakistan ! both in 4rdu and 2n lish! prior to the announcement of the federal bud et.The bud etary supplement evaluates the overall economic performance of the country based on

various economic factors as evident in the precedin fiscal year's data. [5]

• 26penditure "in * -asic functions include the revision and finalisation of the federal bud et!

enforcement of economic measures and disbursements of pension funds. [7]

• 26ternal Finance (2F) "in * -asic functions include the arran ement of financin from

international financial institutions for balance of payments and bud etary support. The 2F win

also allocates and utilises the forei n e6chan e and releases and maintains the funds for both

civil departments and the armed forces. [8]

• 26ternal Finance 1olicy (2F1) "in * -asic functions include the compilation of the 1a0istan

overnment's principal policy for macroeconomic overnance and poverty reduction. The 2F1

win also deals with multilateral and bilateral institutions li0e the "orld -an0 ! Department for

environment that are obsolete! overlappin and inconsistent or unduly add to the cost of doin

• Military "in * -asic functions include procurement of all defence e#uipment for the Ministry

of Defence (MoD) and the Ministry of Defence 1roduction (MoD1). The win also prepares!

e6ecutes and monitors the bud et and e6penditure of the armed forces! MoD! MoD1! interB
