Oregon State University | Crook County Extension
September 2019 | Volume 32, Issue 8
Tiffiney was nominated as the youth of
the month for September because she
is very helpful and kind. Tiffiney is
involved in the goat project and is
always lending a helping hand to
younger members in her group. Her
nominators said “Tiffiney is funny and
nice and she helped us with our goats
all year, especially at fair. She let us
borrow supplies we didn’t have and is
just really nice.” What a great
representation of Crook County 4-H,
Tiffiney! Great work!

their 4-H Club Volunteer Leader, to request funds to support a project, purchase equipment for club use, or
provide learning opportunities for members of Crook County 4-H program. Grants may be awarded to

There will be two granting cycles per year and deadlines for applications are November 5 and May 5.
Applications are due to the OSU Extension Office and all applicants will be notified of the committee’s
decision within two weeks of the application deadline.

Record Books Due October 15
If you would like to turn your record book in for judging, it is due to the Crook County Extension Office by
October 15th. Make sure your story is complete through fair, project records are closed out and all is ready
for the judge to review. Record book judging is not a requirement in Crook County but it is highly
recommended! Receiving feedback from a judge is a great way to be sure your records stay in tip-top shape!
A few tips for your as your shape up your book:
4-H Notes/4-H Story should be completed for the 2018-2019 4-H year through fair. This should include
what you learned at fair, how you did and what you are looking forward to in the new 4-H year.
Resume is completed with club meetings held/attended and projects updated. Double check each
section to be sure it is up to date as of Sept. 30, 2019. A well updated resume is worth gold when
applying for scholarships down the road.
Project records for the 2018-2019 4-H year must be closed out. Remember to keep your livestock check
stub for important information needed on the financial summary. Make sure you have depreciated your
inventory.
Be sure your advancements show progress during the 2018-2019 4-H year.
Optional: include up to three pages single sided of pictures behind the 4-H Notes/4-H Story page.
If you run into road blocks or need help closing out your record book, contact Samara at the OSU
Extension Office, 541-447-6228 [email protected]
