Prayer of Protection Lord JESUS, by faith in your merits, I now take your Precious Blood and sprinkle it over myself and my family right from the crown of my head to the very soles of my feet. I claim total and complete protection for my life and my family. Lord JESUS, keep me free today from evil, sin, temptation, satan's attacks and afflictions, fear of darkness, fear of man, sickness, diseases, doubts, anger, all calamities and from all that is not of thy Kingdom. Fill me Lord JESUS with gift of your Holy Spirit and grant me the gift of wisdom, knowledge, understanding and discern-ment so that I will live today in your glory by doing that which is right. Praise you Jesus. Thank You Jesus.

Welcome Father Marcin (Martin) Kowalski! Father is a priest of the Diocese of Kielce, Poland and teaches Biblical Studies at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Poland. For many years he had assisted Father Quarato in the Bronx during the summers. Now he joins us at Seton from July 15 - September 9. A warm Seton wel-come!

RCIA Are you a Catholic who has not made First
Communion and/or Conformation? Are you interested in becoming a Catholic? RCIA means Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Our adult group meets weekly beginning in September. Anyone who is considering entering the Catholic Church, or is interested in completing his/her Christian Initiation by receiving First Eu-charist and Confirmation is invited to contact Fr. Quarato for information.
Do Not Take a Vacation from God! Remember Sunday Mass!
When you are on vacation or traveling for business, you need not worry about finding a local church and times for Masses. There is a free information center for traveling or vacationing Catholics. For nationwide information: MASS TIMES (1-410-676-6000) – www.Masstimes.org.
! " #$ % &The warm weather is here and the “casual mood” joyful-ly descends upon us. However, we ask you to carefully con-sider your attire for Sunday Mass. Some questions to ask yourself: Is my dress appropriate for coming into the pres-ence of the King? Is my appearance a distraction to my brothers and sisters during the Holy Sacrifice? Does my out-fit express an understanding of the virtue of modesty? When non-Catholics see me going into and out of the church, do they get the impression from my deportment and attire that I am a serious member of the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of Christ? Are they inspired to even consider joining me?
MERCY BOX Know It–Live It
CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING ON IMMIGRATION AND THE MOVEMENT OF PEOPLES Biblical Vision of Love for Strangers Both the Old and New Testaments tell compelling stories of refugees forced to flee because of oppression. Exodus tells the story of the Chosen People, Israel, who were victims of bitter slavery in Egypt. They were utterly helpless by themselves, but with God's powerful intervention they were able to escape and take refuge in the desert. For forty years they lived as wan-derers with no homeland of their own. Finally, God fulfilled his ancient promise and settled them on the land that they could finally call home. The Israelites' experience of living as homeless aliens was so painful and frightening that God ordered his people for all time to have special care for the alien: "You shall treat the alien who resides with you no differently than the natives born among you; have the same love for him as for yourself; for you too were once aliens in the land of Egypt" (Lv 19:33-34).
Please Do Not Forget Seton During the Summer!
Your weekly offerings help us to pay the bills and to keep things going. Offering envelopes can be mailed or dropped off at the rectory at any time. Thank you for your generous support! Have a Blessed Summer!

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already deter-mined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor 9: 6-7)
Professional Interior Decorators Seton could use your expertise in planning some upcoming projects. Speak with Father Quarato if you are interested in helping.
PLEASE HELP US TO HELP YOU If you use weekly envelopes for your contributions, please take the time to fill in the amount you are enclosing on the outside of the envelope. By doing so, you are not only making things a little bit easier for the wonderful members of our St. Matthew’s Guild who count the collection each week, but you will ensure that you will be properly credited for your contribution. Also, please do not staple or tape the envelope closed. This helps to expedite the counting process. Thank you!
Our Lady of Fatima The Seton Legion of Mary Fatima statue can be brought to any homebound parishioner for a week to pray with them and their family. If interested, please call Loretta, 845-803-7291.

A Note about Becoming Sponsors For Baptism and Confirmation
It is a great honor to be asked to be a sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation. The role of a “godparent” is to be an “other parent” in matters of our holy Faith. That is why sponsors must be practicing Catholics, 16 years of age or older (14 years old in the Archdiocese of New York), having received Catholic Confirmation and currently living a good Christian moral life. If the sponsor is married, that person must be in a valid Catholic Church marriage. One sponsor is required for Confirmation. It is customary to have two for Baptism, in which case one must be male and the other female. Parents may not be sponsors. A baptized non-Catholic may replace the second Baptism sponsor as a Christian witness. Non-Christians may not be Sponsors. Former Catholics may not be sponsors. A nominated sponsor is asked to get certification from his/her current parish. This is a declaration by a priest/deacon that the individual is qualified to be a sponsor according to Church Law. To be so certified, the individual must be a current parishioner of the particular parish where the certification is being sought, and be known to the priest/deacon as being a faithful practicing Cath-olic, attending Mass there weekly. Those away at college or graduate school or in the military should seek certification from their campus ministries or chaplains. Unfortunately, at times, family members or friends are cho-sen to be sponsors with good intentions, but are found to be ineligible according to Church Law. Also, more and more, people seem to think that they are still “parishioners” of their childhood parish, where they attended school or re-ceived sacraments years ago, while no longer living in the area or attending Mass there regularly. It is important for all individuals to be active members of their local Catholic faith communities. Here, at Seton, Certificates of Sponsorship are given by the pastor to registered members of the parish who are practicing Catholics, and who meet the above criteria. Please see the pastor after Mass on Saturday evening or Sunday to inquire about getting a certificate.
