ORDER OF ONLINE WORSHIP

PRELUDE “Greet the Rising Sun” (arr. Anne Krentz Organ) Handbell Trio: Lizzy Crosby Debbie Dressen Linnae Stole

INTRO/WELCOME

CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS Pastor: Blessed be God, the holy Trinity, source of life, love, grace, and peace. Amen.(silence for reflection) Loving God, if we say we have no sin then we deceive ourselves and the truth is not

in us. But if we confess our sin, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

(silence for reflection) God, who is rich in mercy, loved us even when we were dead in sin, and made us alive

together with Christ. By grace you have been saved. In the name of † Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven. Almighty God strengthen you with power through the

Holy Spirit, that Christ may live in your hearts through faith. Amen.

SONG “Oh My Soul” (Mark Hall, Bernie Herms, Nichole Nordeman) Tim Graf, Elliana Meier

PRAYER OF THE DAYPastor: Loving God and Lord of life, you meet us in our despair and you bring us out of our

tombs of fear and darkness. Teach us again that we have been raised with you into new life and make us a church that rises each day to serve, pray, praise, and proclaim, through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

CHILDREN’S MESSAGE (Online only) Arlene Flancher

READINGJohn 11:17-27 When Jesus arrived, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days. Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, some two miles away, and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them about their brother. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, while Mary stayed at home. Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask of him.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrectionand the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one coming into the world.”Pastor: The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

SONG “Rise Up” (Cassandra Monique Batie, Jennifer Decliveo) Elliana Meier

SERMON “Rise Up: More Than We Ask”

PRAYERS OF GOD’S PEOPLE Pastor: With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need

and all of God’s creation:

Each petition ends: Pastor: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Pastor: Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy, through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
