THE GLOBAL REVOLUTION

FOR A NEW HUMANISM

Orazio Parisotto, scholar in human sciences and fundamental rights, parti-cularly involved in social issues, is the founder and president (1984-2014) of UNIPAX (www.unipax.org), NGO associated with the UN “Department for Public Information” since more than 20 years. Counsellor-Administrator at the European Parliament (1994-2010). Follower of Altiero Spinelli’s though, he collaborates with the European Federali-st Movement and with the World Fede-ralist Movement. He is a promoter of cosmopolitan democracy. Among other things, he followed: the pilot program “Education to Europe, to global culture and peace” involving over 1600 schools (1985-1994), the interna-tional journalism prize “Europa Ponte d’Oro - Europe Golden Bridge” and the competition “I giovani incontrano l’Europa - The young people meet Europe” promoted by RAI and by the public radios and televisions of 20 Euro-pean countries.He wrote numerous essays and publica-tions about the European Union, human rights and peace.He also implemented educational multimedia projects about these topics on various platforms (web radio news, web TVs and e-learning tools with more than 5 million participants) in collabo-ration with the EU. He received international awards for his commitment to voluntary work: Prix Europeen “Emile Noël” (Brussels, 1990), “La Pleiade” (Rome, 1991) and “The best of the year” (Bratislava 1992) and the European Parliament awarded him in 2012, with the silver medal.In this essay he makes use of the consi-derable experience acquired both in the social and institutional field.

The author, starting from the idea of the ongoing transition from the dying indu-strial society to the new but still undefined society, explains in the first part the severe international crisis by highlighting the consequences of unregulated globaliza-tion. He then introduces the mechanisms of great speculation, the dominance of “Finance-capitalism”, the political respon-sibilities. He also emphasizes the need to create real democratic and functional supranational European and global bodies able to deal with the huge global emergen-cies which affect mankind: from the unfair distribution of wealth to the super power of the financial elites, from the expected ecosystem collapse to the “demographic bomb”, from the absurd, dangerous and expensive arms race to the new technolo-gies, up to the constant violations of fundamental rights. He therefore introduces the requests of the honest and outraged citizens, who are asked to mobilize for a “GLOBAL PEACE-FUL REVOLUTION” (GANDHIAN) in order to reach a more human and fair society. In the second part, the author introduces a courageous project that includes a series of concrete initiatives for building the NEW HUMANISM, and invites everyone to take part in the SHOCKWAVE that will lead to the NEW RENAISSANCE.This target cannot be delayed anymore! The scientists’ alarm cry is in fact unanimous: the planet is on the brink and we must act before the middle of this century to avoid its collapse. What can we do? Some possible “WAYS OUT TO THE EMERGENCIES” are proposed: but we must act, all and from now, together with the civil society, to build a new human-centric and bio-centric civilization based on a “New Democratic Institutional Architecture” and on a “New International Ethical Economy”.Everyone is asked to join the “MANIFE-STO OF GLOBAL PEACEFUL REVO-LUTION FOR A NEW HUMANISM” by participating to the initiatives on the website www.unipax.org.

2 The operating progressionAs FIRST STEP, it is essential to start a “PEACEFUL GLOBAL

REVOLUTION” (GANDHIAN), an intense mobilization to deal, on the one hand, with the urgent environmental and cultural socio-eco-nomic emergencies, and on the other hand to draw new paths to be test-ed in a SECOND STEP called “NEW RENAISSANCE” during which we will start, in the shortest possible time, the democratization process of the UN system and we will define and propose at international level a draft of “WORLD REGULATION FOR CIVIL COEXISTENCE” that should be respected by all the inhabitants (residents) of the planet earth in their common interest.

It is a real Renaissance, a rebirth, essential to create together the back-bone, “The Architecture of a New Humanism” to be realized, of course, in the necessary time.

THE BEGINNING AND THE SUCCESS OF A “NEW HUMAN-ISM” IS THE THIRD STEP, OUR GOAL.

As a matter of fact, the three steps are absolutely interdependent and they must be started together and immediately with strong and clear requests and concrete goals. Only in this way, through a “SHOCK WAVE” capable of involving institutions thanks to the citizens and their associations, we can start the “GLOBAL PEACEFUL REVOLUTION”.

The three steps are necessary to a conceptual classification of con-crete initiatives, but in reality it is a single process of Revolution, Renais-sance and New Humanism at the same time.

IN SUMMARY: THE LAUNCH OF THE THREE STEPS MUST BE SIMULTANEOUS BUT THEIR DEVELOPMENT MUST BE DIFFERENT: THE FIRST STEP FOCUS-ES ON THE “REVOLUTION” PROPOSALS AND ON THE SUBSEQUENT PHYSI-CAL AND INFORMATICS MOBILIZATION, NAMELY THE REALIZATION OF THE SHOCK WAVE SO THAT THE “REVOLUTION” CAN INTEGRATE INTO THE SEC-OND STEP: THE “NEW RENAISSANCE” THAT, CONTINUING AND CONSOL-IDATING THE REVOLUTION PROPOSALS, STARTS THE “NEW HUMANISM” WHOSE PRINCIPLES INFLUENCE EVERY STEP AND EVERY PROPOSAL SINCE THE BEGINNING.
