OCCTPresident’s Message
On behalf of the OCCT Board, the cast and all the volunteers who haveunselfishly given their time and have worked so hard behind the scenes, I would like to welcome you to our production of Broadway’s timeless musical,PETER PAN. I am both honored and blessed to serve a second year as President of thisorganization where both my daughters had the opportunity to grow and learn many aspects of musical theater. Orange County Children’s Theater was founded in 1969 as Fountain Valley Theater and is now the longest running children’s theater in Orange County. Our mission has always been to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all children and their families. We are more than an educational theater; you will hear members say, “We are family”. OCCT welcomes all children through the audition process and we are dedicated to training children in many aspects of the arts. The long history of volunteerism gives life to what we do at OCCT and sustains this wonderful program. My heartfelt thanks to Stacy Denbo, our Vice President, who has put her love for children and countless hours into this production. A huge thanks to our Producers Kelly Croft & Stacy Denbo. A special thank you to our Director/Choreographer, Jenny Moon Shaw and Vocal Director/Assistant Choreographer, Marius Beltran. Their dedication, expertise and creativity will be evident as you watch this amazing production. Lastly, I wish to thank all the committee chair board members and parents for their countless hours working behind the scenes. OCCT wouldn’t exist without them.Thank you to all the individuals, organizations and businesses for their financial contributions this year. As a non-profit 503(c) organization, donations helpoffset our production costs and keep OCCT entertaining Orange County for years to come. I would like to personally invite you, our audience & friends, to get involved and help preserve this children’s theater by joining our family in several membership opportunities listed in our program. Now sit back and experience the magic of Peter Pan, as it teaches us the true meaning of friendship and staying young at heart. Blessings,Lorraine RossProverbs 20:6“I do it for the children”
Jenny Moon ShawDirector / Choreographer
Jenny studied Drama and Theatre Arts at Birmingham University, England and trained as a Drama teacher at London Central School of Speech and Drama. In England, Jenny worked as Head of Drama, and Director of Performing Arts at a High School for eight years. She moved toCalifornia in 2012 and now works as afreelance Actress, Teaching Artist, Director and Choreographer. In California, Jenny has enjoyed directing and choreographing anarray of shows at a range of wonderfulvenues. Recent work includes choreographing an extract of The Sound of Music for Segerstrom Centre of the Arts, originating the choreography in the world premier musical ‘Journey to the West’, directing Les Miserables for Orange County Children’s Theatre Company and working as a Teaching Artist for Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Jenny is grateful for the energy her cast have given to this process. This show is an exhausting journey for any actor, with huge stylized, all singing, all dancing characters in very large company numbers.OCCT’s talented youngsters have not been daunted by the task and have risen to all challenges thrown their way. She is very proud of them all! They are youth! They are joy! They are freedom!
Directors NoteThank you so much for journeying with us into the Darling’s nursery at bedtime, an exhilarating and vivid time in which the real andmake-believe can sometimes morph together in a child’s mind, where one can have adventures, “right there where you stand”. Our production has had a lot of fun exploring J M Barrie’s Neverland...“The snuggest and most compact, not large and sprawly, you know, with tedious distances between one adventure and another, but nicely crammed... when you play at it by day with the chairs and table-cloth, it is not in the least alarming, but in the two minutes before you go to sleep it becomes very real.”We have found it a wonderful place to inhabit and have learnt a lot in the process of creating it. I am proud of this exciting, vibrant and talented cast and hope you enjoy all of our nursery adventures!
Marius BeltranVocal DirectorAssistant Choreographer
Marius Beltran has been performingprofessionally for the past ten years, and musical directing and choreographing for the last five! This is his first time music directing for OCCT. Marius currently holds a BA in music composition and iscurrently working on a Master’s degree in choral conducting. He also works as an arranger, teacher and vocal coach for various groups in Southern California.
Hoop DanceWe decided to bring Native American hoop dance into “Ugh-a-Wug”. It is a song in which the Lost Boys and the Indians unite. Hoop dance was traditionally performed for healing ceremonies throughout tribal com-munities, to bring balance and harmony back to the world, the hoops representing the never ending circle of life. It has no end or beginning and reminds one that we, as nations, are all connected.
Taylor WindleTelegrammer ChoreographerTaylor is thrilled to be working with the telegrammers again and can’t wait for you to see them shine onstage. This is her 5th time working with the telegrammers and it truly has become one of her favorite things to do. Taylor has been involved in OCCT since she was a Telegrammer, and she has done many shows including Oklahoma, Wizard of Oz, Joseph, and Seussical. She grew up with OCCT being her home away from home and is very thankful to the organization for allowing her to find her love of performing, choreographing, anddirecting. She went on to pursue her passion for musical theatrethroughout high school at HBHS in the APA program and then in New York at CAP 21 Conservatory. She is transferring to Cal State Long Beach in the Fall and will be majoring in theatre arts. Taylor thanks you for coming to see the show and hopes that you will buy some telegrams!!

I am 6 years old and I love cheeseburgers plain. My favorite colors are gold, blue and pink. I love to swim, dance, travel to Florida, do makeup videos and watch YouTube. I love Summer and Winter. My favorite song is Wicked from Descendants and when I grow up I’m going to be a Rockstar!
Hi! My name is Angie and I am 7 years old. I am in sec-ond grade and I like to dance, sing, draw and do a tiny bit of basketball. In the summer I like to go to my grandmas house and go swimming with my cousins. Enjoy the show and don’t forget to buy a telegram!Angie LeBlanc
